Christians in Africa and the Middle East

April 5, 2015

Five masked gunmen from Al-Shabaab raided a college campus in Kenya on Thursday, separating out those who couldn’t recite the Islamic creed and killing them. It is a grim reminder of the threat facing Christians in Africa and throughout the Middle East. Syria is another place that has become dangerous for Christians. Of the 1+ million Christians in Syria, 700,000 have fled because of radical Islam.

What you need to know: Al-Shabaab was responsible for the mall bombing in Kenya several years ago. They are on a rampage throughout Africa and the Middle East, bent on destruction of all people who will not bow to Islam. President Obama refuses to call them Islamic terrorists. His administration doesn’t want to draw a line that says this has to do with the Muslim religion. It is difficult to fight a nameless enemy.

How to Pray: That people of influence will recognize the need to identify the enemy. Ask God to continue to protect His people in that region especially. Pray for those who are grieving the loss of their loved ones.
