NATO Considers Sending 4,000 Troops to Russian Borders

NATO Russia MapIn a belated response to Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, NATO is considering sending as many as 4,000 troops to Russia’s borders with Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Some NATO members fear further Russian aggression and want to send a strong warning message, but others are wary of making things worse. At present, there is a ceasefire between Ukrainian and Russians troops in the Ukraine that seems to be holding. Putin blames the expansion of NATO for the crisis in Ukraine.

Why this Matters: Russia has challenged the U.S. recently by sending their fighter jets into our air space, buzzing our air carriers near South Korea, and sending their navy submarines along our undersea cable routes close to the U.S.

How to Pray: Father, guide world events according to Your plan. Preserve and protect Your people and raise up those who will represent You in these places.

Proverbs 11:18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness [shall be] a sure reward.
