ISIS Hacked, 5,500
Twitter Accounts Lost
An online group calling itself “Anonymous” has waged a cyber war on ISIS and announced it has hacked 5,500 ISIS-affiliated accounts on Twitter and has taken them down. Anonymous has crippled ISIS’ ability to disseminate propaganda and communicate with its supporters on the internet.
Bomb Scare in Germany
A soccer stadium and concert hall in Germany were evacuated because of terror threats. They turned out to be false alarms. The soccer match, which was to be attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, was cancelled, and the stadium evacuated. Related news:
- Police in Brussels and throughout Europe are searching for two men suspected in the Paris terror attack.
- Russia has joined the French in air strikes on Raqqa, the de facto capitol of ISIS and sites through Syria, including oil tankers.
- Two flights from USA to Paris were diverted Tuesday night because of security concerns. Both landed safely; one at Nova Scotia, the other at Salt Lake City.
ISIS Sells Oil to Fund Terrorism
Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters on Monday at the G-20 summit that ISIS gets financial support from 40+ Western countries. He also warned about countries illegally trading oil and petroleum products with ISIS.
Other sources report ISIS has also begun selling Iraqi crude oil to Syria–who needs it to fight the rebels–as well as to black market traders in Syria, who sell it to the rebels. ISIS is exporting crude oil to Turkey, Kurdistan, and even Israel. The U.S. Treasury estimates ISIS is earning more than $1 million selling oil.
The Mindset of Radical Islam
Iran was recently given access to $100 to $150 million in frozen assets as part of the Iran Nuclear “Deal.” According to President Obama and Secretary John Kerry, this agreement is to stop Iran from building a nuclear arsenal for at least ten years. As part of the agreement, Iran will be allowed to conduct their own inspections and will have 24 days’ notice before those inspections. In essence, Iran can cheat on the deal and develop the nuclear weapons now, or they can have them in ten years. Either way, they get what they want.
Middle Eastern expert Joel Rosenberg describes Iranians and ISIS as adherents of Apocalyptic Islam. They believe that the end of days has arrived and their messiah (Mahdi) is coming at any moment, and Jesus will also come as his prophet and lieutenant. The way to hasten this event is to annihilate Israel and the U.S. As former Iranian President Ahmadinejad said, “We must prepare the ground; he will not appear if we sit idly by.”
ISIS is a Sunni apocalyptic regime that wants to build the caliphate now so that messiah will come. Currently, ISIS controls large swaths of territory in Syria and Iraq equivalent in size to Great Britain. Iran is a Shi’a apocalyptic regime. Iran’s leadership wants to kill millions with nuclear weapons so the messiah will come. Although the leadership of ISIS and Iran hate each other, they have a common goal which they are both on the way to accomplishing.
Why this Matters: Our President refuses to say we are at war with radical Islam, and so do all Democrat presidential candidates. They refuse to use the word Islam in order to appear inclusive and non-judgmental. Hillary Clinton said she opposes jihadists. However, many on the conservative and Republican side are saying we cannot defeat an enemy we refuse to define.
How to Pray: Father, we trust you with our lives. Whether we live or we die, we are yours. As we consider the state of world events, we are happy to know that You are in control. Thank You for Your love, kindness, and mercy on all men. Comfort those who mourn, bless those who give their lives to serve their countrymen. Protect us from our enemies. Help us to keep our eyes on Jesus.

Bobby Jindal announced on Tuesday he is suspending his candidacy for president, saying, “I’ve come to understand this is not my time [to run.]” When asked about who he would endorse for president, he said, “I trust the voters to select our candidate for the presidential election: someone who has courage and smarts to make big changes.” Jindal continues to serve as Governor of Louisiana.
How to Pray: Father, we pray for guidance in choosing our next President. We ask for a candidate who thinks the way you do and will pursue righteousness.
