The Ultimate Goal in the Bathroom Wars

(This is an op-ed)

The New York City Commission on Human Rights has published its transgender guidelines that should have all of us “cisgender” (not transgender) Americans concerned. At issue is the idea that everyone has a “deeply-held sense of gender identity,” which may or may not correspond to one’s biology. Therefore, it is highly bigoted that we would assume a person’s outward sexuality would indicate their gender.

Enter the New York City public school system. It is preparing to include gender identity in its classroom curriculum. This means lessons on sexual “fluidity” and “spectrum,” or the doctrine that there is no such thing as a person who is 100 percent boy or 100 percent girl. For example, eighth graders will learn that individual identity occurs over a lifetime and has four parts: biological gender, gender identity (including transgender), gender role, and sexual orientation (including heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual).

This nicely dovetails with the President’s sweeping new rules that reinterpret Title IX, the federal law that originally was used to give girls’ sports the same financial treatment as boys’ sports. Now all public schools must comply by allowing transgender students to use the bathroom of choice. But if Congressional progressives and liberals have their way, it will apply to all private companies who do work for the federal government. Thus, beginning the move to require everyone to conform.

Here is a sampling of how far the NYC Human Rights Commission wants to take things:
We must use the correct pronoun for transgenders (the commission permits us to ask which one the transgender person prefers)

  • We may not impose different work uniforms or grooming standards based on sex or gender
  • We must allow men to wear wigs, makeup and high heels in the workplace

And the most telling:

  • We may not force a transgender or gender non-conforming person to use the single-occupancy restroom

Did you catch that? The simple solution–have transgenders use a one-person bathroom–is prohibited. This proves it’s not really about equality for transgenders. Instead, it’s about forcing us to accept and embrace another theology–one that is absent of a Creator who knew us and our sex before we were born.

The NYC school system intends to apply this gender teaching to grades 7 to 12 in NYC public schools. But we all know it won’t be long before they are indoctrinating preschoolers. Several states have filed lawsuits to fight the President’s mandate.

Christians must not stop storming the throne room, asking God to overturn these hideous doctrines.

Ps. 139:14 – I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Gen. 1:27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
