Trump Details his Economic Policy

Donald Trump was in Detroit on Monday speaking to the Economic Club, where he detailed his “America First” economic plan:

  • Tax Simplification – 12, 25, and 33 percent tax brackets for individuals
  • American companies will pay no more than 15 percent in taxes
  • Parents can fully deduct childcare costs
  • The “death tax” is eliminated
  • A 10 percent tax will be charged to bring back cash that has been parked overseas
  • Regulatory Reform – There will be a temporary moratorium on new agency regulations and a cancelling of all “illegal and overreaching” executive orders

Why this Matters: Homeownership in the U. S. has fallen to 63 percent, its lowest level in 51 years. Perhaps that is because 94 million Americans are out of work, which is 14 million more than in 2008. The U.S. also has the highest tax rate for businesses, at 35 percent. Massive regulations and drive the cost of doing business even higher. The economy is in need of an overhaul, much as it was in 1979 when Ronald Reagan was elected. Donald Trump has chosen several people from the Reagan administration to advise him on economic policy.

More Gitmo Detainees to be Released

President Obama intends to complete the closure of the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility in Cuba before he leaves office. Of the original 246 terrorists imprisoned, only 76 remain. Obama plans to transfer 34 of them to foreign countries where they will be monitored by those governments.

Why this Matters: President Obama vowed to close Guantanamo Bay and is carrying out his promise. These remaining 76 are the worst of the worst. Although there is no way to know for certain, is estimated that about 30 percent of the terrorists who have already been released have returned to terrorism.

Pray that our next President will be determined to protect and preserve the U.S. and the Constitution. Pray that any further wicked acts these terrorists plan will be rendered ineffective. Our God is a mighty God!

Pakistani Taliban Behind Suicide Attack, 70 Dead

Pakistani militants killed a prominent attorney on Monday, and then bombed the hospital where dozens of other lawyers had gathered to mourn him. The twin attacks killed at least 70 people and wounded dozens of others. A faction of the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the suicide attacks.

Pray that the plans of such groups around the world will be discovered and stopped. Pray for the salvation of Muslims and the protection of Christians who suffer tribulation. Father, we ask in the name of Jesus that if we are ever called to be persecuted for our faith, we will stand firm.

1 Peter 4:7 – But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
