FBI Releases Notes from Clinton Interview

Another document “dump” by the FBI of their notes from an interview with Clinton related to her email scandal. These notes from their July 2 interview with Clinton were released on Friday, right before the Labor Day weekend. Here are some things that were uncovered:

  • The “C” next to paragraphs in certain State Department documents refers to “confidential.” Clinton said she thought it was for alphabetizing.
  • On 39 occasions, Clinton said she could not recall or did not understand key elements of the training she received on how to handle classified emails.
  • The FBI determined that Clinton’s previous public statements that she “never received or sent any classified emails,” which she later changed to, “classified at the time,” were all untrue.
  • Clinton said she only had one device she used for emails. However, the FBI notes say she had used 13 mobile devices. One of her aides claims he destroyed two–one with a hammer.
  • Clinton used her private, unsecured email server to send at least 22 emails that included “Top Secret” information.

The notes also revealed that the Clinton team had a moment of realization that they might get caught. A person–whose name was redacted from the report–deleted her archive mailbox and used a program called “BleachBit” to scrub the files. Leading Democrats have insisted that her mishandling of classified material wasn’t her fault, but she was confused by mistakes or changes made by others.

Why this Matters: The founding fathers knew we would need a process for dealing with corrupt politicians. Therefore, Congress can impeach a elected official up to 20 years after their office has expired. This renders that person disqualified for office. At least one political action committee and one Congressman are calling for Clinton’s impeachment. When asked by Rachel Maddow of MSNBC about this possibility, Clinton said, “Isn’t that pathetic? It’s laughable; it’s so totally ridiculous.”

Papa God,

We pray that we might have righteous government leaders. Your Word says you desire that we live quiet, peaceful lives and shine as a light in a dark place. Help us to exercise our spiritual authority in our culture and our nation by being watchmen on the wall. Forgive us for those times when we’ve used ignorance as a way to hide from the truth, or were afraid and feeling powerless to do anything about it. Thank You for forgiveness.

Those times of slumber are over. We purpose in our hearts to be awake and alert, steadfast. We know that our prayers are precious to You and that You delight in responding.

As citizens of the U.S., we can change the leadership of our nation simply by voting. Forgive us for neglecting that responsibility–for there are many elections where we may have chose to stay home or have not been informed about some of the lower offices. Thank You that we still live in a nation where our votes count.

As citizens of the kingdom of God, we beseech You to end the corruption that is now the hallmark of Washington D.C. and further the influence of Your kingdom on earth. Help us to practice godliness, righteousness, and mercy and to be instruments of Your grace.

Confound and confuse the enemies of Jesus. Bring them to defeat and shame. Expose the enemy’s plans to destroy America and put in its place a one-world government and one-world religion during our lifetimes. Give us more time to share the gospel and get our financial, spiritual, and relational houses in order. Move on us to do the right thing personally, as a Church, and as a nation. Let repentance begin with the Church and in our personal lives.

We pray for new opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ, for open doors with unsaved family members and friends, and for divine appointments to bring forth Your glory. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Ezekiel 33:6 – But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
