Fake News Blames Russians for Skewing Election

Donald Trump was interviewed over the weekend by Fox News’ Chris Wallace, who asked what Trump thought of the claims that agents of the Russian government had used a cyber attack to help him win the election. Trump called the charge “ridiculous,” and “just another excuse. I don’t believe it,” he said.

On Friday,  President Obama ordered intelligence agencies to review evidence of Russian hacking in last month’s elections on behalf of President-elect Donald Trump.

This issue has dominated the mainstream media for days. The morning Obama ordered the review, the Washington Post reported that a “secret intelligence source” says Russia hacked the election to help Trump win. The New York Times reported that a senior Obama official said there was “high confidence” that the Russians hacked both the DNC and GOP, and the Clinton emails that were fed to Wikileaks–which published them–helped Trump win the election.

In neither report was it stated that the official intelligence community is making these specific claims. Rein Priebus, former GOP chairman and now chief of staff for President-elect Trump, said there had been no hacking of the RNC whatsoever. The FBI was called in to investigate, but after a month of research, found nothing.

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange says the source who gave him the Clinton emails was not a foreign state. Others suggest the leaker may have been a Washington insider who backed Bernie Sanders and retaliated after Clinton got the nomination.

There is no evidence that the election was tampered with by Russia or any other agent. Nevertheless, two Republican senators, John McCain and Lindsey Graham, joined Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta and other Democrats in calling for greater public disclosure about the Russian’s cyber attacks.

Why this Matters: The mainstream media has not been able to process the result of the election and the fact that they got it all wrong. So now, they are trying to overturn the result. Their first tactic was the Jill Stein recounts, which actually have Trump picking up more votes. They have also waged email campaigns against the electors, and some have received open threats or have been offered bribes to change their votes. Now comes this attempt to accuse the Russians of stealing the election in the hopes that Americans will lose all faith in result.

Last week, Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brian Kemp, accused the Department of Homeland Security of trying to hack Georgia’s election systems. Kemp said a computer that was traced back to DHS in Washington tried unsuccessfully to penetrate the state office’s firewall a week after the election. Georgia did not participate in allowing Homeland Security to scan its networks ahead of the election. A DHS spokesman said the department is looking into the matter.

How to Pray: Father, please expose the truth for all to see. May the enemy’s schemes trip him up, and like the Scriptures say, let those who dig a pit fall into it themselves.

Ecc. 10:8 – He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
