Facebook to Begin Censoring its News Feed

zuckerberg

Facebook has teamed up with a short list of media organizations to fact-check their news and keep certain stories out of their news feed. When third-party fact-checkers confirm a story is fake, it will be labeled and demoted in the News Feed. A company rep said that when it appears that a “fake” story is going viral, it will bury the story in people’s feeds.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg says it is a “new kind of platform” with a responsibility to “build a space where people can be informed.” He added, “I recognize we have a greater responsibility than just building technology that information flows through.”

The site will prompt users if they attempt to share news articles disputed by third parties. They will focus on the clear hoaxes spread by spammers for their own gain.

Why this Matters: Is this a protection for users, or a way for Facebook to blacklist information that runs contrary to the mainstream media narrative? These four organizations will be fact-checking Facebook’s news. Their bias is obvious, when you fact-check the fact-checkers!

  • Snopes – a website roundly criticized as defending Liberals and getting their facts wrong.
  • Factcheck.org – affiliated with the Univ. of PA School of Communications. It used only partial information to try and debunk the videos showing Planned Parenthood execs negotiating prices for baby parts.
  • ABC News – Mainstream media, which leans Left. Applauded by Hillary’s campaign team for its “perfect” use of their talking points.
  • PolitiFact – Mostly biased towards the Left and not completely accurate.

Father, some Americans are finally waking up to the spirit of deception that covers our nation. We pray for more citizens, especially the Christians, to begin paying attention and give the issues “praying attention.” Help us to defeat all deception.

Prov. 14:8 – The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception.

2 Thes. 2:11 – And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

Thanks Lori, Good to hear this I’m about done with Facebook and Yahoo also.

Fran has gone to church and I’m ready to stretch out and read a book. It’s been a long two weeks for my brain, my back and my bottom:) The car is packed and we’ll leave at dawn if it’s not freezing.

Mary C. had Fran & I over for dinner tonight along with LaDonna, Pat K, Marcia, Bridget, Sherry and a lady I hadn’t met before named Pam Joy? It was good, but even better was eating and fellowshipping with you at Aviano’s:)

Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.

    Love Midge
