Macron Wins French Election in a Landslide

Macron Togneux
Emmanuel Macron, 39, was elected president of France on Sunday. He defeated Marine Le Pen, an anti-Islamic nationalist, by 65 percent to 35 percent. Macron is a former investment banker and served for two years as French Economy Minister. He has never held elected office.
More than just a globalist, Macron is an open promoter of Islamism in France and does not consider it a threat. He has proclaimed that French culture no longer exists–which is in stark contrast to Le Pen’s outspoken nationalism. At one point during the campaign, Macron warned the French that their society must change and be more open to Islam.
The Muslim Brotherhood, recognized by the U.S. State Department as a terror organization–although there have been many attempts to mainstream it in the U.S. media, publicly called on Muslims to vote only for Macron.
France has had multiple Muslim terror attacks in the past two years.
Why this Matters: Macron had no background in banking until the Rothschild family found him and he was “groomed” for public office. Many people believe the Rothschilds control the central banking system in the West, including the U.S. Federal Reserve.
President Obama is a staunch supporter of Macron and filmed a video promotion for his campaign; because Le Pen has been compared to Trump, this defeat of nationalism may not bode well for the future of Europe.
Pray for believers everywhere in Europe. May they have boldness to share the gospel, conviction to stay strong in spite of the changing cultural landscape, and humility to be led by the Holy Spirit.
1 John 2:27 – But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing
teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie,
and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Trump Welcomes Palestinian President to the White House

President Trump met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the White House on Wednesday to talk about renewing the peace process. Trump called it the “final and most important peace agreement that brings safety, stability and prosperity to both sides and to the region.” He said, “I will do anything to facilitate it… and we will get this done.”
Abbas remarked that the Palestinians’ “choice is to bring about peace based on the vision of the two states,” with East Jerusalem being Palestinian capital, and a Palestinian territory based on the borders that existed before the Six-Day War. He called for Israel to end its “occupation of our land” after 50 years.
  • Note: In the Six-Day War, June 5-10, 1967, Israel captured the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, the Old City of Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights; the status of these territories is a major contention in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
A negotiated two-state solution will mean that Israel makes massive concessions of land to a terror group said to be masquerading as a legitimate state. However, Abbas will agree to any peace plan. He has opposed plans laid out in 2000, 2008, and 2013.
Trump will be leaving soon for a tour of the Middle East, with his first stop being Saudi Arabia to meet with Muslim leaders. Israel is his second stop.
Why this Matters: Abbas is an antisemite who says polite things about peace on the world stage, then returns to his own people, fomenting unrest and calling Jews “pigs” that should be killed. It is an Arab strategy to make peace with your enemy, and then turn around and destroy him.
This was a disappointing meeting for all who support Israel. In some quarters, it is being called a “casualty” for Israel. Western media sources say Trump declined to postpone his trip until June when he could help commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the Six Day War. The administration argued the timing could harm the U.S. by putting it in a biased position alongside Israel.
This is an about-face of so many things the President said during his campaign and kept saying until just a few weeks ago. At one point, Trump even suggested he would be moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. That is no longer on the table.
There is little hope that a peace accord will be achieved. However, this a President who prides himself on making deals.
Pray for the Lord’s will to be done, for Christians to cleanse our hearts and turn from our wicked ways. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
1 Thes. 5:3 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child;
and they shall not escape.

Russia Attempts Truce in Syria

Fighting between Syrian rebels and the government forces eased this weekend following cease-fire engineered by the Russians. Some areas were quiet, but on the front lines near the cities of Hama and Damascus, battles continued.
Russia had worked out “de-escalation” zones in the major areas of conflict that would go into effect at midnight Saturday. Joining Russia in the proposal were President Bashar al-Assad of Syria, Turkey’s President Erdogan, and the leadership of Iran. Assad has said his forces will continue to fight terrorist groups across Syria.
The de-escalation zones are located in four conflict areas across Syria. They will be closed to U.S. and coalition warplanes.
Some of the rebel fighters have not agreed participate, claiming it threatens Syria’s territorial integrity, while terrorist organizations such as al-Nusra and ISIS have not agreed to the de-escalation whatsoever.
Why this Matters: Any reduction in fighting would be a blessing to the people of Syria, but it no one really believes this truce will hold.
At this point of the six-year conflict, Assad’s forces have gained the upper hand against the rebel forces, some backed and armed by the U.S.
Pray for believers who are being slain in Syria and for those trying to escape. May the Lord protect them and hide them. May He add to the number of martyrs as He sees fit, giving them faith, strength, and courage to endure until the end.
Zech. 9:1 – The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man,
as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD.
