Democrats Wish for Death of Republicans

Republicans are being targeted for violence. The latest victim was Rep. Steve Scalise, who nearly died last week from gunshot wounds. Thank God, his condition has been upgraded this week to “fair.” The shooter, James Hodgkinson, carried a “hit list” of 30 Republicans in his pocket. Thanks to the heroic actions of his security detail, Hodgkinson was prevented from carrying out his full mission.

You would think this tragedy would bring both sides together. Not so. When President Trump addressed a rally in Iowa on Wednesday, there were a loud group of opponents in the audience. When the President spoke of praying for Rep. Scalise, they erupted in a chorus of boos and heckling.

Did they really mean they were against his recovery? Do they wish all Republicans harm?

The entertainment industry continues to advocate the demise of our President. In fact, his assassination is being enacted night after night during performances of Shakespeare’s “Julius Cesaer” in New York. The comedians are also getting into the act. Kathy Griffin made headlines recently when she posed for a video holding a bloodied and severed head made to look like that of Donald Trump.

On Thursday, actor Johnny Depp joked on stage: “When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” He later apologized, but not until people posted their disgust with him on social media. Depp is the 11th Hollywood star who has described before audiences how they would commit violence against the President.

If your disapproval of the President permits you to call for his death, what about your disagreement with his policies? That seems to be the perfect opportunity for all-out fear-mongering. This week the deceit and hatred was in full display as Democrats protested new healthcare legislation. Several, including Hillary Clinton, said the new bill would be responsible for the deaths of Americans. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) was more specific. He said it will cause not only death,  but pain and suffering as well.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called the cuts involved in the new healthcare bill “blood money,” and said, “people will die.” Is this true? No. It’s not a very good bill, and it’s very similar to Obamacare. That’s why several conservatives plan on voting against it.

One Nebraska Democratic Party official tied the shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise to the healthcare legislation. A recording of him saying he’s glad Republican Steve Scalise got shot was released on Friday. The official, Phil Montag, said “I wish he was (expletive) dead,”  and Scalise’s “whole job is to get people, convince Republicans to (expletive) kick people off (expletive) healthcare.”

Lying and deceitfulness has become an extension of the Left’s politics. They work people into a frenzy, making Republicans the enemy who must be stopped at all costs. Then, when people such as James Hodgkinson take action, the Democrats turn it around, blaming the outcome on the victims and their conservative values.

A popular hashtag on Twitter is #HuntRepublicans. This is vicious and it incites rebellion against the government. Those who hold positions of influence have an obligation to rein it in, and we have an obligation to call it what it is: sedition. Conservatives must not back down, but support our government. We are on the winning side: If God is for us, then who can be against us?

How to Pray: Ask God to keep the country safe, that the evil these people hope for will come to nothing, and that God will steer the course of our government as He wills.

Ps. 39:1 – I said, “I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth while in the presence of the wicked.”
