State Department to Investigate Hillary Clinton

The State Department has opened a formal inquiry into the mishandling of classified information by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her aides. At this point, all involved have retained their top secret security clearances, giving them access to sensitive government information. The FBI looked into the matter a year ago, but no actions were taken against Clinton or her aides.

According to Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, of particular concern is the July 5, 2016 statement by former FBI Director James Comey that Clinton and her staff were “extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.” If found criminally culpable, Clinton and others could be charged and subject to large fines or time in prison.

Why this Matters: People during Trump campaign rallies could be heard chanting, “Lock her up!” There is so much comfort in knowing our Father is the ultimate judge, and sometimes, he allows the guilty to reap what they’ve sown while they’re on earth.

Grassley’s Committee has also opened a new probe into former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s efforts to interfere with the FBI’s investigation into Clinton. These are Lynch’s questionable actions:
• Lynch met secretly with former President Bill Clinton on the tarmac of an Arizona airport during the 2016 campaign. When asked about it, she said they discussed their grandchildren.
• The FBI obtained a document indicating Lynch said she would keep the Clinton investigation from going too far.
• Lynch wanted Comey to soften the investigation by calling it a “matter,” instead of a criminal investigation. Comey had also been concerned Lynch would not be impartial.
The Committee is also looking at President Trump’s firing of Comey. Some have suggested this is obstruction of justice, but the President is fully able under the law to fire an appointee, such as the FBI director, at will.

Why this Matters: Robert Mueller, the Special Counsel (investigator), has hired a team of Clinton supporters and Democrat party donators to help him investigate. Good or bad? If Mueller clears Trump of all wrongdoing, it will give the other side very little to complain about. If they do find something, their partisanship will be called into question.

Some in Washington are calling this “mission creep”–in other words it is spreading uncontrollably to other areas beyond the allegation of Russian collusion. Many suggest it won’t end until Mueller finds something, anything, to prosecute.

How to Pray: The truth would be discovered, and no amount of coverup or corruption will keep the real liars, wicked ones and evil deeds hidden.

Pray that God would guide the U.S. military, specifically Secretary of Defense Mattis, regarding the Obama policy that allows transgenders to serve in the military. As it stands, the military must provide medical care and treatment for gender reassignment surgery–which is funded by our tax dollars.

A RAND study found that there are between 2,500 and 7,000 transgender service members in the active duty military, and another 1,500 to 4,000 in the reserves.

The military chiefs are considering a six-month ban before they allow more transgenders to enlist. Pray that the science that supports God’s order of creation will not be ignored.

Trump-signs

The President signed a bill on Friday designed to protect whistleblowers and make it easier for the Veterans’ Administration to fire bad employees. Under this new law, the VA will be prevented from dismissing an employee who has an open complaint against the department, but those who are poor performers can be removed, demoted or suspended and any bonuses awarded to them can be recouped.

This bill passed in the house by a 368-55 vote, and was passed unanimously by the Senate. The only opposition is coming from public service employee unions.
