Will President Use Military to Help Build Wall?

After a fake to the right, President Trump signed the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill on Friday. The President first said he was considering a veto Friday morning, but signed the bill later in the day. He called it a matter of national security, saying his first job is to defend the safety of the American people, and cited the generous amount in the bill to beef-up our military. However, he also promised to never again sign another bill like it and called for Congress to give him a line-item veto for all government spending bills.

Here are some of the provisions for border enforcement:

  • $251 million for 14 miles of “secondary fencing” along the southwest border in the San Diego sector
  • $445 million for 25 miles of “primary pedestrian levee fencing”
  • $196 million for fencing along the same border–but less than the 32 miles the White House requested
  • $38 million for border barrier “planning and design”
  • $196 million for acquisition and deployment of “border security technology”
  • The only designs that can be used were approved in 2017

The President got more than what he asked for with 63 miles of replacement barriers and more money than requested for technology and facilities. According to budget director Mick Mulvaney, it was “Not exactly what we wanted, where we wanted. Congress chose to ignore some of the suggestions that [Customs and Border Protection] made on where the best kind of wall should go and that’s unfortunate.”

The bill does not cut funding for sanctuary cities and the high price tag has conservatives fuming. But Democrats are thrilled at the generous millions for social programs at home and around the world, plus the $500 million for Planned Parenthood.

Why this Matters: The President’s tweet (above) seems to indicate the military may use some of its funding to build the wall–perhaps through the Army Corps of Engineers.

This is a Q post from Friday:

The President has put national security first and was unwilling to give it up. And with the Congress we have now–full of RINOs (Republicans in name only) and Democrats–it’s not likely he would have gotten a better bill.

How to Pray: For conservatives to hang together and stand behind the President, because divided, we fall.

Luke 11:17 – Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls.

Anti-Gun Rally Brings Smaller-than-Expected Crowd to DC

David Hogg, who grabbed media attention as in the aftermath of the Parkland shooting, was a featured speaker at the anti-gun rally in DC on Saturday. He promised the students at the “March for Our Lives” that they were starting a revolution and would change America with or without politicians.

Several celebrities joined the march, including Michael Moore, Debra Messing, George Clooney, and Steven Spielberg. At an estimated attendance of 200,000, it was much smaller than the organizers’ anticipated number of 800,000.

Hogg has been highly visible for the last month and was recently featured in a youtube video which has gone viral. In the video interview, he railed at Trump and the NRA, and also took on his parents and others who don’t know how to use technology. Hogg said his generation can get done in one second what others can’t, and added, “Sadly, that’s what we have to do with our government because our parents don’t know how to use a (expletive) democracy, so we have to do it.”

One student came out in opposition to anti-gun rally headliners. Patrick Petty lost his sister Alaina in the Parkland shooting. She was in the JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps). Petty tweeted,

“Hey @Emma4Change please stop using my sister’s name to push your agenda, she DID NOT and WOULD NOT support it.

The rally was organized by the Everytown for Gun Safety organization, which is funded through ActBlue, a Democrat National Committee bundling foundation that has received $600,000,000 since its inception in 2004.

President Obama addressed a crowd of youth gathered in Japan and told them how he would shape a million new, young leaders in his and Michelle’s image. His Obama Foundation charity works to help young people engage digitally across the world in order to make a difference.

His speech mimicked that of David Hogg, in laying today’s problems at the feet of “old men,” and he also criticized people for finding news that fits their personal narratives.

The former president visited New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Japan, and met with current and former prime ministers in Singapore, New Zealand and Australia.

Another “influencer” advising young people to ignore their elders is the Pope. On Palm Sunday, the pope addressed the throngs in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican and compared students to Jesus’ disciples, and adults to the Pharisees. He urged them,

“Dear young people, the joy that Jesus awakens in you is a source of anger and irritation to some, since a joyful young person is hard to manipulate…It is up to you not to keep quiet…I ask you: Will you cry out?”

The Sunday service marked the end of a week-long gathering of 300 young from around the world, joined by 15,000 more on social media.

The President has hired John Bolton, former UN Ambassador, to serve as national security adviser, replacing globalist H.R. McMaster. Bolton has served in multiple capacities under Republican administrations and was President Reagan’s Assistant Attorney General. Bolton is considered to be a war “hawk” and has some conservatives worried. He will also face Senate confirmation hearings.

Joe diGenova and his wife Victoria Toensing, both respected attorneys, have decline the President’s offer to join his legal team. Trump called the reports that said he was struggling to attract legal representation “fake news.” The President is also battling allegations that he had an affair with porn star Stormy Daniels.

A terrorist in France killed three people and injured 12 others. He demanded the release of the Paris attacker and said it was vengeance for Syria. He is a Moroccan national in his 30s and had been flagged by authorities as a potential extremist. One of those killed was a police officer, who traded places so a hostage could go free.

Under arrest – Nicolas Sarkozy, former French President, was placed under formal investigation for his allegedly receiving more than $60 million from former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.

The London offices of Cambridge Analytica, the data mining firm caught up in the Facebook scandal, was raided on Friday by British officials. The firm is being blamed for helping get Donald Trump elected and getting a “go” from British voters to exit the EU. The agency responsible for the raid tweeted that the operation was just one part of a larger investigation.

Pray for the victims in France. Thank God for brave law enforcement officers and every person who lays down their lives on the job.

Continue praying for the President as he battles accusations from every corner. Pray even liberals will realize that none of this is helpful. Like cutting off one’s nose…

Prov. 14:1 – Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
