What’s Really Behind the Iran Nuclear Deal?

Iran’s Foreign Minister Zarif has a good laugh after nuclear agreement in reached, 2015

According to reports surfacing since President Trump cancelled the U.S. participation in the Iran nuclear deal, major firms are losing billions of dollars in commercial deals with Iran. Trump has promised to reinstall sanctions on Iran if the deal is not renegotiated to the benefit of the U.S.

The U.S. and foreign firms currently doing business with Iran have 90 to 180 days to cease before sanctioned are reimposed. This mostly affects European companies, with the main exception being Boeing, who agreed to supply Iran with 80 aircraft valued at $17 billion. A separate deal was struck between Boeing and Iran’s Aseman Airlines for 30 planes valued at $3 billion. Others include:

  • Total (oil and natural gas)
  • Saipem (oil and natural gas)
  • Danieli (heavy machinery)
  • Daimler (locomotives)
  • Peugeot, Daimler (car manufacters)
  • Airport de Paris (airport managment)
  • Vinci (airport building)
  • BP and Shell Oil
  • Airbus, a French company, is also affected because 10 percent of its components are manufactured in the U.S.

Iran is the world’s fifth-largest producer of oil. French oil company Total SA signed a $5 billion, 20-year agreement with Iran in July. China also has an oil company planning to develop Iran’s massive South Pars natural gas offshore field. As a result of Trump’s decision, oil prices rose sharply on Wednesday to the highest point since 2014.

Under the nuclear deal, Iran received extensive economic and financial sanctions relief from the UK government and others. Included was the ability to obtain credit to operate in Iran.

All countries that have signed the agreement with Iran (the JCPOA) have pledge their support and intent to stay in the deal. However, foreign businesses will have to choose whether to continue with Iran or the U.S.

Notable facts about the 2015 nuclear deal:

  • Was not signed by Iran
  • Would not have passed Congress if brought to a vote
  • Does not permit international inspectors to do surprise inspections
  • Was “sweetened” by Obama who gave Iran at least $1.5 billion in cash, which was loaded onto pallets and flown to Iran
  • Obama said the money was for a prisoner exchange in part, and the rest was “interest” on money placed in U.S. banks by the Shah of Iran in 1979.

Two weeks ago, Benjamin Netanyahu revealed a cache of document related to Iran’s nuclear arsenal that Israel stole from Iran. Mike Pompeo, U.S. Secretary of State, said the U.S has known about them for some time. He confirmed they were authentic documents spelling out the scope and scale of the program that they undertook, and the Iranians were not abiding by the agreement.

Worldwide Collusion?

The angle politicians used to bargaining favor of the Iran nuclear deal has always been to keep the world safe. What if it wasn’t about safety, but about kickbacks? It’s notable that the UN’s top inspector for the deal quit unexpectedly after Trump’s announcement. Perhaps that was the end of his gravy train and he was getting out.

Iran’s foreign minister Javad Zarif, pleaded with European leaders to “take necessary action to safeguard the accord and to implement their commitments,” and to “proceed from giving pledges to taking practical action without any preconditions.”

Zarif’s senior advisor released the following statement on Saturday:

“If Europeans stop trading with Iran and don’t put pressure on US then we will reveal which western politicians and how much money they had received during nuclear negotiations to make #IranDeal happen.”

In other words, the Iran regime will release the names of all officials who received bribes during JCPOA negotiations.

The Other Players:

They certainly acted desperate in the weeks before Trump’s announcement. John Kerry met secretly with Zarif prior to Trump’s announcement to try and save the agreement. He violated the Logan Act, which prohibits this sort of work behind the administration’s back. Kerry and Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s top adviser, were instrumental in crafting the deal.

Interesting side note: Kerry’s daughter Vanessa is under investigation for a scheme to funnel millions of dollars from the State Department into her nonprofit through the Peace Corps.

Another interesting connection is that of Valerie Jarrett and Huma Abedin, top Clinton adviser, to the Muslim Brotherhood–which is a terror organization. Jarrett was born in Shiraz, Iran to a family of avowed Communists. Jarrett had been leading talks with Iran in secret for a year before the formal negotiations began.

Huma Abedin is the wife of Anthony Weiner, who is in jail for sexting with a teenager. Abedin was born in Michigan, but grew up in Saudi Arabia. Her father is an integral member of the Muslim Brotherhood and her mother is one of the prominent “63” members of the Muslim sisterhood. Huma herself wrote for the Sharia law journal while interning at the Clinton White House. The journal’s goal is to establish a global Sharia in our modern times.

Is it any wonder President called this agreement “defective at its core” and a “very, very bad deal”? He was courted in the weeks prior to his decision by UK Foreign Minister Boris Johnson, Germany’s chancellor Merkel, and France’s President Macron, who asked him not to walk away from the agreement that has no real benefit to the U.S. except the hope that Iran will not develop nuclear weapons for at least ten years.

How to Pray:

For the opening of the U. S. Embassy in Jerusalem. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are in Israel to celebrate.
For Hawaii, that Father God will quiet the earthquakes in Hawaii, to keep the fissures from opening, and keep the lava inside the volcano.
For an end to the ridiculous Trump-Russia collusion investigation, which is entering its second year. It’s going nowhere and costing taxpayers millions of dollars.
For our Father to expose the bad actors in government and for all their dirty deeds to be revealed.

Job 34:22 – There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

1 John 1:5 – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
