Obama Admin. Lied to Congress, Wanted US Banks to Violate Iran Sanctions

The Obama administration tried to give Iran brief access to the US banking system in 2015, violating sanctions, while repeatedly lying about it to Congress. 

According to a Senate investigation report released on Wednesday, the Obama Treasury Department issued a license in February 2016 that would have allowed Iran to covert $5.7 billion rials into euros by first converting them to US dollars.

The scheme didn’t work because the two American banks that were being pressured into allowing Iran access refused to cooperate with the Obama administration. 

Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), subcommittee chairman, said he believes the Obama administration misled the American people because they were desperate to have a nuclear deal with Iran. The nuclear deal, which was never signed by Iran and isn’t legally binding, was achieved in July 2015. 

Obama Treasury Secretary Jack Lew testified to Congress that even with the sanctions relief included in the deal, Iran would “continue to be denied access to the world’s largest financial and commercial market.” 

A month later, another top Treasury official, Adam Szubin, testified that Iran will be “unable to deal in the world’s most important currency.” When questioned by lawmakers about the possibility of granting Iran access to US banks, the Obama officials didn’t disclose that a specific license for Bank Muscat in Oman to convert rials to euros had already been issued.

In 2016, the Obama administration wanted to give Iran additional sanctions relief beyond what was lifted in accordance with the nuclear deal. Secretary of State John Kerry and other top aides traveled across Europe, Asia and the Middle East trying to convince banks and businesses to do business with Iran.

According to the Senate report, Iran likely found other ways to get to its money, including exchanging the rials in smaller amounts through another currency.

Why this Matters: Issuing the banks a “license” to go around the sanctions was kept secret for a reason. Let us remember the $1.7 billion in hard currency that the Obama administration secretly sent to Iran on pallets, supposedly to a) purchase the freedom of hostages in a hostage exchange; and b) repay the interest on money banked in the US by the former Shah of Iran in 1979. 

According to Q, the Trump insider who has been pointing the “truth” community towards information to bring all the loose ends together, the Iran nuclear deal was a giant slush fund, with payoffs to Germany, France, the Clintons, and others. Part of it was used as startup funds for ISIS, and later as money for their weapons.

Under Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 20 percent of our own uranium was sold to Russia–with kickbacks to the Clinton Foundation–and then transferred to Iran and North Korea. Like in the movie “Sum of All Fears,” our own uranium is being used to threaten us and keep wars going.

Now it looks like North Korea is free from the clutches of the cabal and according to Q, cleanup of Iran is next.

How to Pray: for Trump, God’s clean-up man, to carry out the will of the Lord. May God protect him! Pray for the truth movement and for more people to awaken out of their slumber. 

AG Sessions Adds 311 Assistant 

US Attorneys

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the Department of Justice is allocating 311 new Assistant US Attorneys to help prosecute priority areas. They are assigned as follows:

• 190 violent crime prosecutors
• 86 civil enforcement prosecutors
• 35 immigration prosecutors

Many of these prosecutors will support the newly created Prescription Interdiction and Litigation Task Force to combat the opioid crisis. This is the largest increase in decades.

This is good news! Pray for swift and righteous justice in all of these areas.

The President signed legislation to help veterans on Wednesday. The bill brings accountability to the VA and widens veterans’ access to private doctors, building on legislation passed in 2014. The cost is $51 billion. 

Pray for the men and women who served us with their lives and their health. Pray they will get the good medical attention needed and for their salvation.
