Facebook, Twitter Suffer Huge Stock Hit

There’s been no definitive answer offered about the huge stock losses suffered by Facebook and Twitter at the end of last week, but it’s possible censorship and greed has something to do with it.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg was recently interviewed by Congress and asked about the sale of millions of subscriber information to third parties without their consent. He apologized and said Facebook would be implementing policies to address the problems. Zuckerberg’s testimony was unconvincing.

Further problems come from algorithms that are biased against conservatives. For these and other reasons we don’t yet know, in trading last week, Facebook lost $119 billion (19 percent), and Zuckerberg lost $15.4 billion in personal wealth.

Who is Facebook?

There are 5.23 billion users on Facebook and its related apps. But the idea for social media capturing, storing, and providing access to the flow of people’s experiences didn’t come from the private sector. It came out of a DARPA (US Department of Defense) program called Lifelog. The day Facebook was “born” is the day Lifelog ended–and the transfer of a system developed to take in all of a subject’s experience, from phone numbers dialed, e-mail messages viewed, and places visited was complete.

Facebook itself was funded by the CIA through Peter Thiel, the cofounder of PayPal, and Elon Musk, of Tesla. Thiel’s firm Palanitir, worth $20 billion, runs algorithms for the CIA and other intelligence agencies.

YouTube, which is part of Google, has ties to the government as well. Sergey Brin, Google co-founder, reported his progress to the Department of Defense and the CIA while developing Google. Notably, Brin’s ex-wife is the head of 23andMe, the DNA testing company that sells its information to drug companies who are are willing to pay big money for people’s personal health data.

Destroying their Opposition

One person who won’t be on Facebook is Alex Jones of Infowars. He is the arguably one of the most significant voices on alternative media and an expositor of the truth behind “conspiracy theories.” Facebook just blocked Jones for 30 days from for allegedly encouraging physical harm based on a person’s religion or gender identity. Nearly two million people “like” and follow him on Facebook.

Youtube also removed four of Jones’ videos.

What is his crime? Jones showed a ABC News footage of a kid attacking an adult. He showed a video of Muslim refugees pouring across the border in Europe. He also criticized transgenders for doing “strip dances” for children.

The MSM (mainstream media) says he beat up a child and hates Muslims and transgenders, yet has not provided proof.

Twitter Stocks Also Tank

On Friday Twitter’s stock plunged 20.5 percent. The day before, Twitter’s legal team admitted they rank tweets in order of relevance to promote “healthy conversation.” Twitter has downgraded the accounts of prominent conservatives who are “engaging in divisive or manipulative discourse.” This means that anyone who follows these conservatives and retweets their posts is also suppressed.

Normally, Twitter automatically “populates” the search bar with popular names when you begin typing. What they are doing to conservatives is called shadow-banning; meaning they do not automatically offer suggestions for finding like-minded conservatives.

The company also recently purged “fake and suspicious” accounts, and those who violate its terms of service. And even though Friday’s loss was the second-worst in Twitter’s history since their stock went public in November 2013, the value has doubled in the last 12 months.

Meanwhile, other American companies are exploding in value:

  • Apple $939 billion – the highest-valued private company in the global markets
  • Amazon – $882 billion
  • Alphabet (parent company to Google) – $886 billion
  • Microsoft $827 billion

Why this Matters: With the midterm elections coming up, social media companies and the Mainstream Media (MSM) are working overtime to prevent conservatives from winning. If Democrats win the House, there will be no accountability for the Mueller investigation or the injustices done to harm President Trump and protect Obama and Hillary.

Trump, along with lawmakers such as Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), who has been shadow banned by Twitter, say they are looking at legal remedies.

Here’s the issue behind the problem. Google, Facebook, Twitter, et al pretend they are private corporations that can do as they please–and any hits the head honchos face can be shouldered by the corporation rather than the individuals. Yet, all of them operate like utilities. Who ever heard of the electric company denying service to individuals based on their political views?

These firms base their operations on the principle of intellectual property rights, which gives them enormous power. It’s about time that this power is challenged in court
–perhaps even the Supreme Court.

How to Pray: For the propaganda tyrants who devise evil and suppress the truth to be decimated. Pray God will bankrupt every dishonest media outlet and raise up truth-tellers to replace them. Pray that believers will hit their knees while the battle rages, instead of hiding because they don’t like the direct way President speaks. May we all become armed with the facts!

Other News

California Wildfires have claimed the lives of five people in Redding, and have forced 50,000 people from their homes.

Catholic Cardinal Theodore McCormick, 88, resigned on Friday morning over sexual abuse allegations. He was one of the Vatican’s most prominent officials and a former archbishop of Washington, DC. He has been investigated by law enforcement for abusing a 16-year-old altar boy nearly 50 years ago. Other reports surfaced between 1994 and 2008 about his coercion of adult seminary students. McCormick helped draft church policies aimed at protecting children from abuse.

President Trump tweeted he is willing to shut down the government if “Democrats do not give us the votes for border security, which includes the Wall!” He now enjoys the highest poll numbers in the history of the GOP for a Republican president.

The US economy grew by 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2018. Private business investment has jumped from 1.8 percent in 2016 to 9.4 percent. The quarterly trade deficit has been reduced by $52 billion and we continue to have historically low unemployment, especially for African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, and women. This was very good news.

How to Pray: For the Breath of God to blow out the California wildfires; for every disgusting abuser of children to be exposed, punished, and removed (Deut. 21:22); for God to guide President Trump as he works through securing our borders–that he will be successful and do all that God has put before him.

Remember to praise the Lord, for He is good!

Ps. 105:1 – O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Ps. 97:12 – Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
