$160 Million Hid in Defense Bill Funds Battle Against Conservatives

City Life

Social media censorship is swiftly removing conservatives from the internet landscape. Alex Jones, the most outspoken voice on the Right has been yanked from YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest, and iTunes (all but one podcast) because of “hate speech and harassment.” These platforms are privately owned, but received either massive funding from the US government to get started, and/or have enjoyed enormous tax breaks.

But now it seems they are also getting tax dollars to fight against conservative voices who oppose them.

In a post dropped by Trump insider called “Q,” researchers were led to pick apart a piece of legislation called HR 5181: the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act of 2016. Hidden in the 2017 Defense Authorization bill, it gave $160 million for “journalists” and others to counteract what they consider to be fake news.

What is fake news? That depends upon who you ask.

Biased, Left-leaning groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center are being used to “fact check” information. Their “hate map” of organizations in the US that promote hate includes James Dobson’s Family Research Council because of their Christian conservative ideology.

The SPLC and others such as FactCheck.org and Snopes, are funded by George Soros and other globalist groups. They do not have track records of accurately evaluating news stories. In fact, they are simply propaganda certification mills.

Control the Message, Control the Country

Consider this: all major news organizations and social media platforms in America are owned by just a handful of corporations. None are conservatives. They control the news media and social media, which means they controls what many or even most Americans believe to be true.

The elites in education have been doing this for decades, and it’s working. For example, only 36 percent of college students were able to name just one of the provisions in the Bill of Rights. Forty percent weren’t able to name any!

And that’s their goal. Because people who don’t know their rights cannot defend them.

Some colleges are even using the admission process to judge applicants’ social media activity. Prospective students are asked who they follow on Twitter and what they tweet. Following a conservative can get you rejected.

And lawmakers are looking for even more ways to control the narrative. A leaked memo prepared by the staff of Senator Mark Warner outlines 20 ways the government can implement more control over the flow of information on the internet. The reason we need it, according to the memo, is “Russia’s unprecedented interference in the 2016 election.” (Never mind that it didn’t change one vote!)

There are a few consumer privacy protections suggested, but some proposals are reminiscent of Orwell’s 1984:

  • Combat “disinformation” with government oversight (who decides what constitutes disinformation?)
  • Creating media “literacy” programs to direct consumers to government-approved sources of information (like a library with only certain books?)
  • Requiring web platforms to identify and remove “bots”–anyone they identify as not being credible (such as conservatives who don’t toe the line?)
  • Allowing platforms to place a money value on users’ information in order to increase competition

The list was designed to “stir the pot and spark a wider discussion,” according to the memo. If Democrats and never-Trumpers get a majority in the House and win the White House in 2020, the internet and media will belong to Big Brother.

A new Ipsos poll says that 43 percent of Republicans are so frustrated with the fake news media that they would like President Trump to shut them down, versus 36 percent who said no. In another question that asked if freedom of the press is essential for American democracy, 85 percent said yes and only 4 percent said no. Nearly two-thirds of all respond-ents from both political parties agreed that it should be easier to sue reporters who knowingly publish false information.

Libertarian Ron Paul said it well, “In an empire of lies, the truth is treason.” Notably, on Thursday, the executive director and the editor for the Ron Paul Institute were both suspended by Twitter.

Election Results

Another batch of primaries and special elections were decided on Tuesday.
Donald Trump campaigned for five GOP candidates. All of them won.

The new darling of the Left, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is a socialist, endorsed and campaigned for several Democrat candidates: two Muslims in Michigan and far-Left candidates in Missouri and Hawaii. All of them lost.

Democrats must pick up 23 seats in order to have a majority that gives Nancy Pelosi the gavel of the House. They would not be able to prevent Trump’s Supreme Court nominees from being confirmed, but they would be able to block legislation.

The Democratic Socialist Party is a problem. This totalitarian socialist movement whose new “face” is Ocasio-Cortez is very close to Communism, and it’s growing rapidly among Seniors and Millennials. Some factions want to outlaw police and close all the prisons, releasing the inmates into society. They believe in open borders and abolishing ICE.

What would happen if we abolished ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)?

The Trump administration was prosecuting criminal illegals at the border, which caused some “families” to be separated. Pressure from Democrats eventually forced the President to sign an executive order putting an end to this practice. If public pressure put an end to ICE, this rescue would never have happened:

  • Ramon Pedro showed up at the Ysleta Port of Entry from Mexico into Texas in mid-April accompanied by his “daughter.”
  • When the child was hospitalized in July for tuberculosis, it was discovered that she was being systematically raped and brutalized by Pedro.
  • Pedro is not the girl’s father, but a human trafficker. He is now in jail.

Some of the loudest voices against ICE are candidates like Zephyr Teachout, who promises that if she is elected, she will prosecute ICE for their criminal acts. Teachout is running for New York Attorney General–the top law enforcement job in the state–vacated by Eric Schneiderman. He made headlines in May after being accused by several women of sexual abuse and treating them as sex slaves.

President Trump’s agenda is working for many Americans who are seeing a bit more in their paychecks thanks to tax reform. The group Americans for Tax Reform has a list of 700 examples of pay raises, bonuses, 401(k) match increases, expansion, benefit increases and utility rate reductions due to Republican tax cuts. Click here for the list.

How to Pray: For conservative candidates as they prepare for the midterm elections, for a trustworthy election process. Ask God to expose anyone who tries to commit voter fraud, and that God’s people will assume office.

Pray for the ongoing trial against Paul Manafort, and that the truth will be exposed and the verdict will be fair.

Pray for the fires in California to be extinguished. These are the worst in California history.

Pray for Americans to WAKE UP and to begin to think logically about socialism and that it doesn’t work.

Pray that God would direct the thoughts of Christians to understand that the enemy’s strategy is to divide our nation. Pray we are able to “reason together” with those who “oppose themselves.”

2 Tim. 2:24-26 – And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
