Kavanaugh Confirmed as SCOTUS Justice

A Saturday afternoon vote of the Senate of 50 to 48 seated Brett Kavanaugh as a Justice on the Supreme Court. Two Republicans didn’t vote, and one Democrat voted to confirm. Republican Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) voted “present” and Steve Daines (R-MT) was out of town for his daughter’s wedding. President Trump said he spoke to Daines and encouraged him to attend his daughter’s wedding because the GOP had the necessary number of votes.

The Kavanaugh confirmation process was as ugly as any political spectacle can become, with last-minute accusations from several women saying Kavanaugh is a sexual abuser. The FBI was asked to do a final review of the allegations (they had already conducted six investigations into Kavanaugh throughout his career), and reported that they had again found nothing against the judge. There was absolutely no corroborating evidence of any misconduct.

Crowds of demonstrators–many of who are professional activists paid by George Soros–flooded Capitol Hill and waged a campaign of harassment and physical violence against Kavanaugh and leading Republicans. Other GOP Senators who were “on the fence” were targeted relentlessly to get them to change their votes.

Susan Collins (R-ME) is a pro-abortion Senator who gave an impassioned speech on Friday declaring why she believed that Kavanaugh, despite being a pro-life Catholic, should be confirmed, saying he valued precedent. She believed he would be a fair Justice. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and others praised her speech, calling it historic.

The President never backed away from his nominee. On Saturday after the vote, Trump tweeted:

This gives conservatives a majority on the Supreme Court!

The President is on a roll of success, with unemployment numbers at their lowest since 1969–at 3.7 percent. He has been attending rallies in West Virginia, Tennessee, Minnesota, and Kansas to support Republican candidates running in the November 6 mid-term election. All have been packed houses, with overflow rooms and thousands turned away at the doors.

Why this Matters: The Democrats lost a huge battle with Kavanaugh’s confirmation. The spotlight should be now on the Obama administration’s coup to steal the election and, because that failed, to create a case for impeachment. The midterm elections are vital to keeping the Supreme Court conservative. If Democrats take over the Senate, they have vowed to impeach both Trump and Kavanaugh.

Take time to thank the Senators–especially Flake, Collins, and Joe Manchin (the lone Democrat) for their votes. Call their offices or send an email. The phone number is 1-202-224-3121.

How to Pray: Thank God for this victory, because He alone did this! Pray for the midterm elections and the thousands of national, state, and local conservative candidates that they will win. Pray that the President will be able to seat a few more Justices who are Constitutionalists, pro-life, and pro-freedom.

2 Cor. 10:3-5 – For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
