Norma McCorvey is a name most do not recognize. She died in 2017, as a sinner saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her story of repentance and salvation is little known–but the abuse she endured at the hands of Leftists is one of the most revolutionary in the history of the United States.
Norma McCorvey is “Jane Roe” of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion right up to the moment of birth. According to radical feminists, it was high time that women should be able to end the life of a baby–especially in the case of rape. To make that opinion law, they found a victim: Norma McCorvey, a women with a troubled past including abusive men, lesbianism, and alcoholism. Unmarried and pregnant again, she was a perfect pawn.
Pro-abortionists lawyers got their hands on McCorvery, who had come up with a doozy of a story: that she had been gang raped by a group of black men!
This is from her Senate testimony in 1998:
“Not only did I lie, but I was lied to. I did not come to the Supreme Court on behalf of a class of women. I wasn’t pursuing any legal remedy for my unwanted pregnancy. I did not go to the federal courts for relief. I met with [attorney] Sarah Weddington to find out how I could obtain an abortion. She and Linda Coffey said they didn’t know where to get one. Sarah already had an abortion but she lied to me just like I lied to her! She knew where to get one, obviously, but I was of no use to her unless I was pregnant. Sarah and Linda were looking for somebody, anybody, to use to further their own agenda. I was their most willing dupe.”
Yet, instead of investigating McCorvey’s claims, these women ran with the phony story. And today, most people don’t know that real story is that:
- There were no black men
- There was no gang
- There was no rape
She simply slept around and got pregnant.
McCorvey says her attorneys “were looking for somebody, anybody, to use to further their own agenda.” She said she was not aware of all the implications of abortion or even what the term itself meant. “Abortion, to me, meant going back to the condition of not being pregnant… For their part, my lawyers lied to me about the nature of abortion. Weddington convinced me, ‘It’s just a piece of tissue. You just missed your period.'”
These radical feminist lawyers knew exactly what they were doing by keeping the facts under wraps. And all that the American public saw was a grass roots movement that arose out of compassion for a pitiable victim of gang rape. It helped that there were lots of protestors–and lots reporters with cameras to record every outrage.
Meanwhile, McCorvey was kept in the dark. She signed the initial affidavit to proceed with the case without reading it, was never invited into any court, never testified, and was never at any hearing. She said she learned of the decision from the newspaper.
In the end, the Supreme Court ruled to permit abortion at any stage and for any reason, as a “human right” to the mother–never mind what that means for the human rights of the child.
This became the Leftists’ standard for success: find a “victim,” use creativity to make the case as outrageous as you can, play on ignorance and trickery to dupe the public, get your willing accomplices in the media to film paid and party-line protestors, and get your politicians and “analysts” to make the rounds on the media.
Victory! You’ve converted public opinion through lies and now your lies will change the law.
Similarities in Ford’s Accusations v. Kavanaugh
Before Donald Trump even named Judge Brett Kavanaugh as his nominee, the Democrats were putting the final touches on their case to thwart his confirmation.
They found Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, a clinical psychologist and college professor. She helped author a paper on using hypnosis to alter memories. Ford accused the Judge of trying to rape her 36 years ago at a high school party. She didn’t remember any details that could be checked out, such as the date, place, or how she got home from the party. She told no one about the incident–not even her closest friend.
Ford named four other people as witnesses. Every single one said they didn’t remember any such incident. Nevertheless, the FBI was called in to perform their seventh investigation into Kavanaugh’s background. Again, they found nothing.
As the days went on after Ford’s public testimony before a Senate panel, we discovered Ford told several lies. Although she didn’t take an oath to tell the truth, she broke man’s law and God’s law. Partial list:
She lied about installing a second front door on her home because of PTSD and claustrophobia, saying it was added after she “remembered” the assault during a 2012 therapy session. Google earth images show a second door in 2008.
She lied about being afraid to fly, saying that’s why she didn’t want to testify on Capitol Hill. Ford flies frequently for work, to see family, for hobbies, and vacations.
She lied when asked if she has ever coached anyone about taking a polygraph. Ford’s former boyfriend came forward and said that she indeed coached her friend Monica McClean before she took a polygraph to join the FBI.
One of the rallying cries was that Ford passed her polygraph. She testified the ordeal was so terrifying that it made her cry, even though she was only asked “Is any part of your statement false?” and “Did you make up any part of your statement?” Because we have no recording of the test, no paperwork, and no witnesses, the tears could have been caused by her frustration that she had to keep taking the test until she could pass it.
Since Ford was a bust, the Leftists have now shifted to Justice Kavanaugh’s “unfitness” to serve. They say he is partisan, not impartial, because he came out like a bulldog before Senators in defense of his innocence. Never mind that he has 13 years of perfect conduct as a Circuit Court Judge.
What about Ford? She’s gone from the scene.
Ford’s lawyers issued a statement a few days ago that she would be dropping her pursuit of any further charges. The fact is, without evidence, witnesses, etc., there is no “case,” and no ability for any legal actions. The Democrats did do one nice thing for Ford before dumping her and moving on; they set up a Go Fund Me account, which at last count held $1.5 million.
As for the other accusers, they have all fallen by the wayside. Where are your sexual assault accusers, Justice Kavanaugh? They may be gone, but the rent-a-mob remains; they’ve simply changed tactics. Now they want you declared unfit, impeached (should the Democrats gain control) and at the very least, to recuse yourself from any case they want to win.
Why this Matters: God wins. From the first moment Christians heard about the Roe v. Wade case, they took to their knees in prayer, begging for unwanted babies to be spared and for mothers to be saved. In this case, they got both. Norma McCorvey gave birth to her baby who was then adopted. Norma was water-baptized and eventually became a very pro-life Catholic. She even tried to get Roe v. Wade overturned.
Who knows how much more God can do for our country if we are faithful to pray, share, and act? If Republicans retain control of the House and Senate, or even gain some seats, Trump will likely appoint more justices. The end of Roe v. Wade may be in sight.
How to Pray: For revival, which begins in the House of God, and the eventual overturn of Roe v. Wade. Pray for law-and-order candidates to win in November, and pray for peace.
Matt. 5:10 – Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
