23 Days to Midterms: The GOP Unites While Leftists Stir up Strife

The Kavanuagh confirmation circus did little to help the Democrats, and in fact, may have actually hurt them. First, they didn’t get rid of Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, and second, the unprecedented attacks on Kavanaugh actually served to unite the divided Republican party. Each and every day brings new accounts of how the Leftists are hurting their image with the public. Some of the most vocal, such as Hillary Clinton, are encouraging incivility. Others openly promote violence.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder was caught on camera referencing Michelle Obama’s remark in which she said about Republicans: “When they go low, we’ll go high.” He changed it up and said, “When they go low, we’ll kick ’em.” The video is all over social media.

It’s good to remember that Holder was behind the Fast and Furious scandal. Holder, Obama Attorney General, used the Department of Justice to run guns to Mexican drug cartels as a way of tracking cartel activity. When he got caught by the Senate, he pleaded the 5th. One of those guns was used to kill Border Agent Brian Terry. Another was used in the ISIS attack in Paris in November 2015.

Hillary Clinton responded to the Kavanaugh confirmation and the upcoming elections by saying to CNN “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about… That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again. But until then, the only thing that the Republicans seem to recognize and respect is strength.”

On Friday we learned that Clinton and four close associates haven’t had security clearances since September. It is not clear whether they were removed or surrendered voluntarily.

During the Kavanaugh hearings, extra security had to be brought in for the Judge and key GOP Senators to protect them against unhinged radical protesters, who also had it out for their families:

  • The wife of Rand Paul, the Senator who was recently attacked by his liberal neighbor and seriously injured, said she sleeps with a loaded gun next to her bed following the Kavanaugh confirmation.
  • The wife of Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) was sent a video of a beheading and the names and addresses of Gardner’s family members were posted on line. The FBI is investigating.
  • An employee of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) used a government computer to hack the home addresses and phone numbers of several GOP lawmakers and published them on Wikipedia to allow radicals access to private information.
  • Vandals hit GOP campaign offices in several states, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and his wife were shouted down by a raucous mob at a restaurant.

But, don’t call them “mobs.”

CNN criticized a commentator who used the word “mob.” The host began shaming him and saying he should instead call them “angry citizens.”

CNN Furious Over Love for Trump

On Thursday, President Trump invited several singers, songwriters, and musicians to the White House to participate in the signing ceremony of the Music Modernization Act, which improves the process by which rights holders are paid when their music is streamed online and provides a legal process for artists to receive unclaimed royalties. Additionally, royalties will be paid to songwriters and artists for songs recorded before 1972.

The event was open to the press and several of the artists, such as Mike Love of the Beach Boys, were quick to thank the President.

Rapper Kanye West, who has taken a lot of heat from the Left for being a Trump supporter, delivered a flood of his thoughts about his ideas for the country and manufacturing goods at home. Speaking in the Oval Office he made no attempt to hide his exuberance and love for Trump and warmly embracing him. “If he don’t look good, we don’t look good. He is our President!” West remarked.

  • Donna Brazile, former chair of the Democratic National Committee who stepped down after she was caught feeding debate questions to Hillary, tweeted that West “set us back 155 years.”
  • The CNN anchors covering the event made no attempt to hide their disgust. One said that Kanye hugging the President was an assault on the White House. They called it bonkers and crazy, and made fun of him for saying he felt empowered as a male wearing his MAGA hat.
  • CNN host Don Lemon laughed when one of his commentators referred to West as the “token negro” of the Trump administration. Another said that “Kanye West is what happens when Negros don’t read.”
  • Football great Herschel Walker tweeted that he went to bed appalled at Lemon’s “despicable” behavior and his calling for CNN to fire Don Lemon over his racist treatment of West.

Football legend Jim Brown was also at the White House on Thursday. He spoke to reporters who asked about the Colin Kapernick controversy and taking a knee to protest the National Anthem. Brown said,

“I’m an American; that flag is my flag… I don’t think we should take the knee in protest, but work out these problems as a family… This is the President of the United States. He allowed me to be invited to his territory. He treated us beautiful and he shared some thoughts… That’s the best he could be for me.”

Blue Wave or Red Tsunami?

While the Left promotes hate and division, the other side stands for progress and success. Trump finished up a busy week, making stops in Minnesota, Missouri, Tennessee, Iowa, and Kentucky. The last rally attendance was maxed out at 10,000–and according to The President, 93,000 applied for tickets. There were several thousand who couldn’t get in, but stood outside in the cold watching on a giant screen.

And on the Democrat side? Bill and Hillary are about to embark on a 13-city tour, charging as much as $745 per seat.

The Washington Examiner published a list of what’s been done to help Americans in the first 20 months of Trump’s first administration. These 289 accomplishments range from record low unemployment and adding 4 million jobs–to a 83 percent increase over one year in arrests of MS-13 gang members.

Another important item is Trump’s negotiation with Turkey for the release of Pastor Andrew Brunson who has been imprisoned for two years. Upon getting home, Brunson met with the President, laying on hands and praying for him.

The latest polls for the midterms show some Republicans surging. But as the President has urged, every vote is needed on November 6 in order to ensure the House and Senate remain in Republican hands. And since these same pollsters failed completely in 2016, we know they cannot be trusted.

Why this Matters: Despite all the turmoil, the President continues to work on trade deals and sign bills that help all Americans–such as Wednesday’s executive order that gives patients “the right to know” from pharmacists when lower-priced comparable prescription medications are available. He also signed a bill to provide funds to clean up the oceans. Where are the environmentalists thanking him?

How to Pray: Keep lifting up the midterm elections and the conservative candidates. Thank God for an upcoming victory!

Also: pray for the Floridians who have been devastated by Hurricane Michael. It was the third worst storm to hit the US. Pray for quick recovery and comfort to those who lost loved ones due to the storm. Pray for believers to trust God and watch Him meet all of their needs and that this experience would be a great testimony of His faithfulness.

Ps. 40:10 – I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

Lam. 3:22-23 – It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
