Latest Efforts to Criminalize Trump

On Wednesday, the President boldly retweeted the image (above) of eleven people–including the Clintons and Obama–behind bars. The headline says, “Now that Russia Collusion is a proven lie, when do the trials for treason begin?”

The Left’s latest attempts to convince the American people that Trump is a criminal are falling flat when lined up with the facts.

  • On Tuesday, the attack came from Britain’s Guardian Newspaper, which tried to tie Trump, through his former manager, to the hacking at the Democrat National Committee.
  • Thursday, media outlets suggested Trump colluded with Putin to build a Trump Tower in Moscow, but didn’t tell the American people.
  • Trump Labor Secretary Alex Acosta, was linked to a deal he made–under the direction of FBI chief Robert Mueller, who is also the Special Counsel investigating Trump–with a sex offender.

First, nothing the Democrats and Mainstream Media are touting is illegal. Let’s remember that there is no crime on the books called “collusion.” Thus far, no one on the Trump team has been charged with anything related to fixing the election. Some people have been charged with “process” crimes, such as making misstatements to the FBI, obstruction, and charges related to finance laws. Nothing comes close to touching Trump; that’s why he continues to call Mueller’s investigation a “witch hunt” and “an investigation in search of a crime.”

Here is a break-down of this week’s circus:

1. On Tuesday, the UK Guardian ran a fake news story linking Trump to the supposed hack at the Democratic National Committee in 2016. Material that was stolen from the DNC was published by WikiLeaks which revealed collusion to take the nomination away from Bernie Sanders to give it to Hillary.

The Guardian said they were told by a source “familiar with Wikileaks” that one-time Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort secretly met in the London-based Ecuadorian embassy with Wikileaks publisher Julian Assange. There never was any evidence, but the Guardian published the story anyway, and US media picked it up.

The Washington Times uncovered the hoax, and reported on Thursday that Manafort’s passport doesn’t show trips to London for the time in question.

2. Thursday, the media ran with the story that Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen made a plea deal with the Mueller team–changing his testimony about the timeline of a 2016 meeting regarding the Trump Tower building project in Moscow. Trump did not talk about that project during the campaign, and the media suggests that is a form of fraud, hinting that more charges are coming.

What they do not say is that there are no laws to prohibit candidates from running their businesses while they campaign. Nor do they suggest the possibility that Cohen told the truth the first time when he testified to a congressional panel, but changed his tune after pressure from Mueller.

  • Cohen first said that he and Trump talked about the project three times prior to January 2016, when the project was abandoned.
  • Now Cohen says he talked to Trump about the project well into 2016 and that when he testified to Congress about it, he lied to protect Trump.
  • After the flip-flop was reported, President suggested that Cohen was lying and labeled him “weak,” and “not a very smart person,” and suggested Cohen lied to get attention and a lighter sentence.

3. A wrinkle in the matter was exposed this week by the Miami Herald in a story about Jeffrey Epstein, former close friend of the Clintons and convicted sexual offender. Robert Mueller was director of the FBI when Epstein was accused of abuse by more than a dozen minor children. The head prosecutor at the time was Alex Acosta, who today serves as Trump’s Labor Secretary.

Epstein owned a lavish private island off the coast of Puerto Rico and a private jet. According to passenger logs, Bill and Hillary were frequent guests from 2002 to 2005, as were Prince Harry, heads of state, and other celebrities.

The government’s prosecution of Epstein was run out of DC, where Robert Mueller was in charge. Emails between FBI agents and the assistant US attorneys in Miami show continued delays in getting the case to a grand jury. The decisions that had to come from DC never did. Five months after the plea deal was reached to prosecute Epstein, FBI agents still hadn’t seen all of the physical evidence or interviewed all of the victims.

In the end, Epstein’s lawyers and the federal prosecutors agreed that he would plead guilty to one count of soliciting prostitution, and a second count of solicitation of prostitution with a minor.

The fact that Epstein secretly served as a “key federal witness” against two hedge fund managers around the time he cut the plea deal, may explain why he served just 13 months in a Florida jail.

FBI agents who were assigned to the case began uncovering a wide-spread trafficking operation. Yet, according to the Herald, federal prosecutor Alex Acosta (who Trump appointed as Labor Secretary) worked with Epstein’s lawyers to contain the case.

Why this Matters: This suggests problems for Acosta and Trump, but what about Mueller? During his confirmation hearing, Acosta was questioned briefly about the deal approved by Mueller for Epstein. If Acosta was strong-armed into this limited prosecution, will he one day talk about it? Further court action on Epstein is scheduled in Palm Beach County on December 4.

Democrats Promise Continued Harassment

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is now spearheading a quest to vote on legislation to protect Mueller’s investigation and keep it going. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said, “I think we need to look into among other things, the credible allegations that the Russians may have been laundering money through the Trump organization… That is something we expect to pursue.”

One media outlet is reporting that federal agents descended on the office of Trump tax lawyer Edward Burke and have possession of the lawyer’s records. The Democrats have been threatening to go after Trump’s taxes since the election.

On Wednesday, the President fired back, suggesting he holds the winning hand. He told the New York Post, “If they [House Democrats] go down the presidential harassment track … I think that would be the best thing that would happen to me. I’m a counter-puncher and I will hit them so hard they’d never been hit like that.”

Trump indicated he would declassify the FISA warrant applications and other documents to expose the dirty dealings of the Obama FBI, DOJ and the Clinton campaign. He added, “It’s much more powerful if I do it then, because if we had done it already, it would already be yesterday’s news.”

British and Australian officials are strongly objecting to the declassification because it will expose their involvement in the attempted coup. British spies and Australia’s ambassador to the UK helped set the trap for Trump campaign officials. George Papadopoulos was nabbed in the trap and tricked to pass along incorrect information. This was done to promote the “Russia collusion” narrative. According to several outlets, Britain’s MI6 is “horrified” that the details of a wiretap on Trump campaign aide Carter Page will be declassified.

Former FBI Director Refuses to Testify

Former FBI Director James Comey filed a legal motion on Thursday to stop the subpoena ordering him to testify before the House Judiciary Committee in a closed session on December 3. Hs appearance was to be part of a joint investigation with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee into his handling of the Clinton email investigation. Comey says he will only testify in public to prevent leaks.

Also schedule to testify is Loretta Lynch, the Obama Attorney General, who also gave Clinton a pass in the matter of her illegal server.

Why this Matters: If Comey testifies in an open session, the Committee won’t be able to ask about classified matters. If Comey testifies in public, then Lynch and others will be able to line up their stories to match his.

Speaking of Mrs. Clinton, who has hinted she will run again in 2020, she exploded into a coughing fit before a Toronto audience right after trashing President Trump. Hillary and Bill are on a speaking tour that has so far been less than a success. Tickets to see the couple in Toronto started at $150, but the price was slashed to $17, yet they were only able to get 3,300 people to fill a venue that seats 20,000.

Last week, the Clinton Foundation published their receipts for 2017, which fell nearly 58 percent from 2016. This is evidence that once Hillary was no longer able to offer political favors to her donors, they have all but disappeared.

How to Pray: This is not a time for the faint-hearted, but to rest in the Lord and trust that He has it all in hand. In our weakness, He is made strong. So let us be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might, praying with all fervor and faith:

  • For a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine situation
  • For an end to the “witch hunt” and that the President will be fully exonerated
  • For the House to be able to fund the border wall and finish up the their investigation into Comey and Lynch
  • For every bit of truth to be completely exposed
  • For lawbreakers to be justly punished

  1. Sadly, the trials for treason in relation to the much-ballyhooed “Russian collusion” tripe will start just about when William Thomas Jefferson Blythe Clinton gets brought up on charges for perjury for his lying under oath about his affair with Ms. Lewinsky.
