Trump Rally March 29, Grand Rapids, MI

It’s being called the most successful presidency in modern history—both for the hefty list of accomplishments, and for the exuberant love that millions of Americans feel for Donald Trump. The rallies he holds in cities from El Paso to Grand Rapids to Chattanooga, are filled to the max with tens of thousands inside the venue and thousands more who couldn’t fit standing outside.

Trump is pro-life, pro-religious freedom, pro-free speech, and has a solid conservative agenda. So why do some Christians reject him?

  • Some despise him because the mainstream media pummels us with unfair coverage, and it affects people’s opinions.
  • Others consider his communications to be “unpresidential,” especially his Twitter posts and nicknames.

But before discounting this President based on what you’ve heard or what you’ve been told, you might want to consider Trump’s accomplishments. Do you prefer a scoundrel who acts “presidential,” or someone who speaks his mind–at times offending your sensitivities–yet gets things done?

In the spirit of “actions speak louder than words,” please consider these five areas of accomplishments. There are many more, so this is just a place to start:

1. More money in our pockets – We now have the lowest prescription drug prices in 46 years and the lowest unemployment in 51 years. There are more women, more minorities, and more handicapped in the workplace than ever before. Plus:

  • The President rolled back taxes and regulations, making the US a better place to own a business.
  • He is working now on improving tariffs and trade worldwide so that Americans pay fair prices and can compete with foreign companies.

2. Taking care of our Troops. President Trump signed the largest spending bill ever to fund the military.

  • Equipment that had been failing is now being repaired or replaced.
  • Troops’ wages have increased.
  • The VA is receiving a massive cleanup.

3. Fewer enemies. The war against ISIS, which was raging for years under President Obama, is over. The map below shows the last ISIS stronghold, which fell to Syrian government forces ten days ago.

  • North Korea is also much less of a threat.
  • The missile launch pads, which were kept busy under past presidencies are quiet while the President works with Kim Jong-un on complete denuclearization.
  • Many of the guard towers along the North-South border (DMZ) have been removed.

4. Stronger security. The President recognized that five majority-Muslim countries don’t have the means to properly vet travelers, so he imposed a travel ban on Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen, North Korea, and Venezuela.

  • Despite what the media said, this is not a “Muslim ban.” Travel from Chad, Iraq and Sudan, which are primarily Muslim nations, is not affected.
  • The Supreme Court upheld his ban because these nations have terrorist activity and lack the technology to properly document their travelers.

5. Protection at the Border. Congress refused to give Trump the money he asked for to defend the southern border, so he declared a national emergency and took it from the military budget. Here’s why:

  • There are 76,000 people a month apprehended trying to get in illegally.
  • On March 26, 4,100 were caught and detained by border officials. This is a record for one-day apprehensions.
  • Those with children are released into the interior of the US. The children are often recycled by coyotes and trafficking rings.
  • Because of the backlog of cases, their court dates are set for 2-3 years later; less than 2 percent show up, and more than 96 percent of these “family” units end up remaining in the US.

Most people don’t know that 80 percent of women and girls will be raped on their trek here.

Putting a pause on immigration is not something new. It was done from 1921 to 1965 to allow immigrants time to assimilate. A wall and better border protection will cut down on the human trafficking, drugs and other contraband pouring into this country. Saturday, the President cut-off aid to Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador after they refused to stop the migrant caravans headed towards the US.

5. Protecting our Lives and Freedoms – The President has signed several executive orders ensuring free speech on college campuses, recognizing Israel’s capital, and opening our embassy in Jerusalem. Trump also singled out human rights abusers—such as pedophiles–for capture and swift prosecution. He appointed two pro-life Supreme Court justices and called on Congress to ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected.

So now let’s get to the part some people hate: Trump’s language, specifically in using nicknames for people. Perhaps we should ask if the names fit the crimes…

  • “Crooked Hillary” used her position as Secretary of State in a pay-for-play scam where big-dollar donors to the Clinton Foundation were granted special privileges by the State Department. She also received donations in exchange for the sale of 20 percent of US uranium, which is necessary for making nuclear weapons, to Russia. Now, who is it that colluded with the Russians?
  • “Lyin’ and Leakin'” James Comey and “sick” John Brennan were part of a coup attempt to overturn the 2016 election. Brennan planted the “evidence” to suggest Russian collusion, and top Obama officials tricked judges into granting search warrants based on this phony evidence. James Comey leaked his classified memos to the press and then accused Trump, who fired him, of obstructing justice.
  • Mueller’s “Witch Hunt” – Special Counsel Robert Mueller investigated Trump for two years and found nothing, because it was a hoax from the beginning.

Trump, who knew his own innocence, has had to endure lies and accusations by powerful politicians who were aided and abetted by a willing mainstream media. Former director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, admitted to CNN that President Obama was the one who led the attempted coup. He “tasked the assessment,” which was based on evidence that was known to be false.

With that kind of opposition from the most powerful people in the nation, is it any wonder that Trump uses Twitter–the one place his words are his own? Or that he
exposes people for who and what they are, no matter how politically incorrect that may be?

Remember, even Jesus got fed up with the ruling elite of his day. He called them hypocrites! A generation of vipers! Whitewashed tombs full of dead men’s bones and full of all uncleanness!

Somehow, “lyin’ and leakin'” pales in comparison…

Why this Matters: Opposition from the press and a constant barrage of negativity should not prevent us from knowing and promoting truth. It’s time for us to come together as a people. A house divided against itself will not stand.

How to Pray: For people to be more concerned about truth than they are about the packaging. Pray that the unraveling of the details of this coup attempt will be done decently and in order so that the American people will be able to comprehend what really happened. Pray that we are able to set aside our differences to stand for Truth.

Ps. 51:6 – Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Eph. 5:11 – And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
