Alabama Makes Abortion Illegal

Wednesday afternoon, Governor Kay Ivey of Alabama signed into law HB314, the bill that makes it illegal to perform an abortion. Rep. Terri Collins (R-Decatur) sponsored the bill in the hopes that it would eventually force the US Supreme Court to re-examine Roe v. Wade on the basis of personhood.

As was hoped by the pro-life community, an amendment that would have added exemptions for rape and incest was voted down 21-11. The clean bill bans all abortion except when the life of the mother is in danger—making the performing of an abortion a Class A felony, and the attempt to perform one a Class C felony. There is no penalty for women seeking or obtaining abortions.

Eagle Forum of Alabama Director Becky Gerritson called The Alabama Human Life Protection Act a monumental piece of legislation to protect the unborn and expressed her gratitude to Rep. Collins and Sen. Clyde Chambliss for their passion and sponsorship of the legislation.

Why this Matters: Ultrasounds have proven that what the pro-abortion crowd calls a blob of tissues is a precious life, a person, who feels pain and has a beating heart, even early in its life. Exceptions for incest and rape would have worked against the argument that a child in the womb is a person.

How to Pray: We must continue to pray for women who find themselves with an unplanned pregnancy and that other states will act to protect babies. Pray for Donald Trump to have the opportunity to appoint several more pro-life Supreme Court justices.

The In-Equality Act

On Friday, the House will vote on HR 5, misnamed the “Equality Act,” because it harms children and promotes policies that will further destroy Christian culture in America. The Heritage Foundations highlights the problems of HR5:

• Forces public and private schools, churches, hospitals, businesses, etc., to recognize an individual’s “chosen gender” instead of their “biological sex.”
• Influences public school curriculums to teach transgenderism—telling kindergarten and pre-K children they can choose to be a boy or a girl.
• Provides legal support for these harmful programs.

Another harmful piece of legislation is HR 987, which bans short-term health insurance and kicks 1.5 million Americans off their insurance, according to the congressional budget office. It pumps millions of dollars into the Obamacare infrastructure and marketplaces, much of it on advertising and wasteful bureaucracy.

A Change on the Court – President Trump nominated conservative Kenneth Lee to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals—which covers California—but Senate Democrats are trying to block his nomination with the “blue slip process.” If California Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris don’t approve, then Lee’s nomination doesn’t not move forward. But when he is confirmed, Lee will be the second Trump nominee to be seated on the Ninth Circuit.

Investigating the Investigators

Attorney General Bill Barr announced that US Attorney John Durham, who has been investigating former FBI counsel James Baker for leaking to the press, will also look into the origins of the Russia probe. Durham will review all intelligence collection activities related to the Trump Presidential Campaign. He has extensive experience investigating law enforcement corruption and matters relating to the destruction of evidence by the CIA.

Barr is also working with CIA Director Gina Haspell and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats to investigate the origins of the Russian hoax.

Starting to Squirm

Top Obama officials have started squirming and are beginning to turn on each other. There are now public disputes where former FBI Director James Comey is accusing CIA Director John Brennan of pushing the phony dossier.

There was an email chain in late 2016 where Comey told FBI subordinates that Brennan insisted the dosser be used.

• According to Fox News’ Kevin Corke, a former CIA official says Brennan and former Obama Director of National Intelligence James Clapper were the ones who opposed James Comey’s recommendation that the Steele Dossier be included in the intelligence report.
• Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) reported that a high-level source said Brennan insisted the dossier be used.
• Clapper previously testified that the dosser was not used in the intelligence communities’ assessment on Russian interference. It is now obvious that he lied.

Phony Dossier, Illegal FISAs

Former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) dropped a bombshell on Tuesday saying he saw an FBI spreadsheet that cited news articles and information supplied by Clinton best friend/insider Sidney Blumenthal and used as corroboration for the phony dossier. Gowdy said in other words, Blumenthal used a dossier of his own to help the FBI bring trouble to his political enemy, Donald Trump.

Attorney Joe DiGenova, speaking to Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, said that IG Horowitz has found that the last three FISAs (which were renewals) have been proved to be illegal, and now the initial FISA will be found illegal. He added that for the first time, he believes some of these people, including John Brennan, will be going to jail.

Why this Matters: It is very obvious that the rats are fleeing the sinking ship. John Yoo, a former Deputy Assistant Attorney General under Bush, told The New York Times that by appointing US Attorney Durham, Barr is signaling criminal violations occurred. He added, “If you are a Democrat, I think you would be really worried.”

Perhaps we will soon see the “rats” fleeing to countries that do not have extradition treaties with the US, such as China, Morocco, Nepal, Qatar, and Russia!

How to Pray: Praise God for what is happening behind the scenes and that He has provided us with some excellent public servants. Continue to pray for the President and his safety, for the truth to receive the attention and respect it deserves. Pray for Americans to have eyes to see and ears to hear and hearts to understand.
