Thursday afternoon brought the best news truth-lovers have heard in a long time. The Department of Justice announced it was dropping the case against Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser to President Trump.
Flynn was charged with willfully and knowingly making false, fictitious and fraudulent statements to the FBI. He eventually pleaded guilty, but documents show that FBI agents used threats against Flynn and his son to exhort a guilty plea. According to Department of Justice prosecutor Jeff Jensen, the original case had no legitimate investigative basis.
In describing the importance of the action, Attorney General William Barr told CBS News’ Catherine Herridge:
- “I want to make sure that we restore confidence in the system. There’s only one standard of justice.”
The dropping of the case against Flynn is so devastating to the Deep State that even though documents prove Flynn should be exonerated, leading Democrats are now calling for Attorney General Barr to resign and for a thorough investigation into the Department of Justice.
The announcement about the case came as 57 witness transcripts were released showing no evidence of any collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign. The witnesses gave their testimony to the House Intelligence Committee in 2017-2018, while it was under Republican leadership. But Rep. Adam Schiff, who took over as committee chairman in 2018, has held up their release.
Perhaps that is because the contents are enormously damaging to Democrats. For example, each one of the Obama administration’s witnesses were asked the same question by Rep. Trey Gowdy:
- “Have you seen or do you have any direct evidence that the President or anyone in his campaign colluded or coordinated with the Russians or any other foreign country, to interfere in the 2016 election?”
Each one answered some form of “no.” Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified,
- “I never saw any direct empirical evidence” of guilt of anyone in the Trump campaign of colluding with Russia.
Clapper now works as an analyst at CNN. His testimony that there was no evidence of collusion didn’t stop him or Chairman Schiff from making sure phony information was spread to mainstream media for the next three years.
The Plot to Get Flynn:
According to Flynn’s lawyer Sidney Powell, Flynn was going to audit US intelligence agencies because he knew about billions of dollars that Obama CIA Director John Brennan and others were using to run operations off the books. Flynn also had a plan to re-organize all 16 intelligence agencies, and threatened the Deep State fiefdoms. Therefore, they cooked up a case against him.
In handwritten notes by counter-intelligence officer Bill Priestap, there is evidence of a perjury trap. Priestap writes, “Do we get him to lie in order to prosecute him… or to get him fired?”
Former FBI Director James Comey, boasted about setting up the interview.
- “I sent [the agents to interview Flynn]. Something I probably wouldn’t have done or even gotten away with in a more organized investigation, a more organized administration. I[Normally], if the FBI wanted to send agents into the White House itself to interview a senior official, you would work through the White House counsel, and there would be discussions and approvals of who would be there and I thought it’s early enough, let’s just send a couple guys over, and so we placed a call to Flynn and said ‘Hey, we’re sending a couple guys over, hope you’ll talk to them.’ He said ‘sure.’ Nobody else was there, they interviewed him in a conference room at the White House situation room and he lied to them.”
Comey neglected to mention that agents told Flynn it would be informal, and he wouldn’t need a lawyer.
Plot to get Trump
The FBI wanted to show that Flynn either directed or coordinated activitieswith Russia. But after no evidence of collusion was found, the investigation was closed on January 4, 2017. The very next day, President Obama gave guidance during a White House meeting to key officials on how to use a fictional account of Trump’s activities in Moscow to attack the incoming Trump administration. It came to be known as the Steele dossier.
- The dossier was run through a firm called Fusion GPS, and funded by Hillary, the Democrat National Committee, and the FBI.
- The dossier was such garbage that even James Comey called it unverified and salacious—yet under his direction, the FBI used the it to fool judges into granting warrants to spy on the Trump campaign.
- Bits and pieces from the dossier were leaked to the press at critical junctures in order to harm the incoming Trump administration.
- Rep. Adam Schiff, as chair of the House Intelligence Committee, was on every mainstream media outlet pushing the case against Trump using talking points he knew were lies.
Obama’s efforts gave birth to the Special Counsel investigation that lasted for two years and cost taxpayers $40 million. It led to a report that found no evidence of Trump-Russia collusion.
Trouble Coming for Obama?
The case against Lt. Gen. Flynn ended on Thursday when the Department of Justice withdrew its case. The only step that remains now is for the judge to sign off on that decision.
President Trump weighed in Friday morning on Fox News, saying:
“It was a very dangerous situation what they did. These are dirty politicians and dirty cops and some horrible people and hopefully they’re going to pay a big price in the not too distant future.”
One might assume former President Obama and his intelligence officers will be among those paying a big price.
Adding to the speculation of what lies ahead, Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell was seen delivering a full satchel to the Department of Justice on Friday, supposedly full of even more damaging documents that will be reviewed and released for publication.
Why this Matters: This is just a very brief description of the despicable acts committed under the previous administration. An entire book is necessary to describe all that has happened up to this point, and more is coming as the Trump administration releases additional documents. Don’t be surprised if the attacks against AG Barr and President Trump grow louder and more vicious—especially as we get closer to the election.
How to Pray: All of this must come according to the Lord’s timing. Thank Him for General Flynn’s victory. Pray that the truth, which is trickling out, will become a mighty flood—washing away the lies and deceit. Pray those who are guilty will receive proper punishment, the innocent are exonerated, and people who have been deceived will understand the truth.
