Never Let a Good Virus Go to Waste

Hillary endorses Joe Biden and says the crisis as an opportunity to restructure government and society by saying “this would be a terrible crisis to waste, as the old saying goes.”

“Never allow a good crisis to go to waste.” –Former Chicago Mayor and Chief of Staff to Barack Obama Rahm Emanuel

Although it probably originated with Winston Churchill, this quote has become a popular rejoinder with Democrats during the coronavirus pandemic. Recently, Rahm Emanuel, former Obama Chief of Staff, and Hillary Clinton happily trotted out the phrase to promote universal health care, restructure government, and slam Donald Trump.

This phrase serves as a great reminder that our elected officials yield incredible power, especially under declared emergencies. The lockdowns, which were supposed to be just until we “flattened the curve” have continued weeks beyond that reality. In fact, the CDC reports today that just 188 people died in the US for the week ending May 23.

Nevertheless, the entire nation remains under shutdown orders–ranging from moderate to severe–30 million have lost their jobs, churches aren’t meeting in several states, and some governors are mandating masks be worn in all enclosed buildings.

The Trump insider called “Q,” who daily posts links to information we might otherwise miss, continues to insist: it’s not about the virus, it’s about the election. So while we’re focused on a pandemic, there is a concerted effort underway to defraud us in the upcoming presidential election.

Hijacking Elections

President Trump launched a tirade about mail-in ballot fraud Tuesday on Twitter, which got him censored. His tweet now bears a warning label that directs readers to the “fact checkers” (mainstream media) and “experts” who say mail-in ballots are rarely linked to voter fraud.

Who’s right, Trump or Twitter?

There is no denying that mail-in voting is harder to authenticate. Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch estimates that at least 900,00 aliens illegally voted in 2018, because only 10 states have strict voter ID laws. Other states require no citizenship verification to register to vote. Democrats have viciously fought any attempt to require ID, saying the idea is racist–as though somehow minorities are incapable of obtaining identification.

On the other hand, Twitter is a premiere partner of the group “Vote Day Early.” Their website promotes early voting as essential because of “the virus,” and in the same breath suggests people host an event or throw a party to fill out ballots together!

The virus is now being used as an excuse to make ballots accessible and plentiful, even when fraud is prevalent through these measures. Speaker Pelosi tweeted on Wednesday that voting at home is about our well-being, and several Democrat governors have sent out absentee ballot applications to everyone and anyone, regardless of eligibility.

Nevada postal worker says “something stinks” when unclaimed absentee ballots that were sent to inactive voters piled up in apartment building lobbies, at post offices, and beside community bulletin boards.

For example:
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer had absentee ballot forms sent to 7.7 million Michiganders even though Michigan statute mandates each voter must request an absentee ballot before receiving one. President Trump has called out this action by Whitmer, warning it is illegal.

Ballot harvesting, which is illegal in some states, is practiced in others. This allows political “representatives” to collect ballots en masse, transport them in private vehicles, and drop them off at poling stations. As the President said, anyone can assist in marking the ballots and influencing the outcome.

  • In 2018, the Orange County, California Registrar reported that people were dropping off bundles of 100-200 ballots for that midterm election.
  • A video from Arizona that shows someone dropping off hundreds of ballots at a polling place, prompted a new law making ballot harvesting illegal in that state. That law is now being challenged.
  • In Nevada where ballot harvesting is illegal and signature verification is required to register, the law is being challenged by Clinton lawyer Marc Elias. He is suing Nevada to stop those two provisions that would prevent voter fraud.

Delayed ballot counts are another scheme. Even after polls close, ballots continue to be counted for days or even weeks as they trickle in.

  • Kudos to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, who ruled in favor of election security, saying mail ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on polling day, regardless of when they’re mailed.

California and Los Angeles County were sued in 2019 for not removing 1.5 million invalid names from their voter roles as required by the National Voter Registration Act.

  • LA County had 112 percent of its adults registered
  • The State of California and 58 counties had registration rates exceeding 100 percent.
  • Governor Gavin Newsom has ordered that the upcoming presidential election be conducted as an all-mail ballot election. All registered voters in California will receive a ballot in the mail.

Why this Matters: As the election approaches, the anti-Trump forces continue to make voting more susceptible to fraud while shutting down conservatives on social media. President Trump pushed back against Twitter’s censorship and warned social media giants that the federal government could strongly regulate or close them down if they continue to silence conservative voices. On Wednesday he warned “Big action to follow!”

Personal note: I have been recently flagged by YouTube–which is owned by Google–for publishing “harmful content.” They have removed my ability to earn money through advertising and have severely limited my circulation. This puts my main channel “Lori Colley” in jeopardy of being terminated by YouTube, but “Praying Citizen,” the channel where I post these newsletters has not been affected (yet.)

Many Christians believe that we should practice our faith and stay out of politics. And yet, politics is life–everything we do as citizens of this country has been affected by what our elected officials do to us and for us. Is it okay to sit back because it’s just politics–or should we do as Jesus said, take an active role as citizens until He comes?

How to Pray: God forgive us for apathy and any hopelessness or unbelief in your power to punish the wicked and vindicate the righteous. Invigorate us with faith and Your presence as we fight the good fight against all evil. Lead us in the way we should go. Protect our President and our election. Bring justice upon the evildoers for Your glory and our good. In the almighty name of our risen Savior we pray, Amen.

Jude 20-23 – But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
