What Really Happened to George?

It was horrific. On Monday night, George Floyd was arrested for trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. Police from Minneapolis’ Third Precinct nabbed him outside the store, handcuffed him, and threw him to the ground. Three of the four officers got on top of him, as Floyd pleaded that he was in pain and couldn’t breathe. Within minutes, Floyd fell silent and was pronounced dead.

The whole thing was caught on video. Bystanders cried for police to let him go. Somehow, the four officers turned a deaf ear and allowed a man to die. All four men have been fired, and Derick Chauvin, who kept his knee on Floyd’s neck, has been arrested for murder. When the ambulance showed up, no one gave Floyd medical attention.

It took two days for rioters to get to work.

  • Wednesday, buildings in the area were set afire and looters broke into and decimated a Target store.
  • By Thursday, additional rioters arrived from other cities and the Third Precinct headquarters was torched and burned to the ground.
  • The rioting spread to cities across the country, including Los Angeles, where 1,000 members of Black Lives Matter closed down the 101 Freeway. Other hot spots: Louisville, Denver, and Columbus, Ohio.

What We’re not Being Told

George Floyd, the victim, and Derick Chauvin, charged with murderworked together as security guards for a year at a Minneapolis night club. The owner, Maya Santamaria, says the two men had overlapping shifts, and Chauvin worked for her for nearly 17 years.

  • During that time, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) was the Hennepin (MN) County attorney. She decline to prosecute multiple police officers cited for excessive force—including Chauvin, who had ten excessive force complaints against him. Klobuchar is in the running for the VP slot alongside presidential candidate Joe Biden.
  • On Friday, Klobuchar tweeted that the arrest of Chauvin was the first step towards justice, seeming to forget her previous inaction.
  • Rep. Ilhan Omar’s daughter used social media to promote the riots, asking for “anything else useful for shielding from cops,” and tennis rackets and hockey sticks to be used as weapons.

The National Guard has been called to Minneapolis to quell the riots, and the city has been shut down to protect lives and property. Now the clean-up begins.

Why this Matters: What really happened remains a mystery. Why was Chauvin allowed to keep his job with so many strikes against him–and what kind of relationship did he and George Floyd have? Pray for the truth to come out and for God to comfort Floyd’s family.

President Trump Gets Censored

On Friday, Hillary Clinton accused President Trump of calling for violence. She tweeted: “The president of the United States is calling for violence against American citizens.” Twitter agreed with her and on Friday, slapped a warning label on one of the President’s tweets.

Here’s what the President said:

  • “….These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!”

And here is Twitter’s violation notice:

  • This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.

Twitter has double standards, especially when it comes to Leftist causes. The following tweets have been allowed and even promoted:

  • Islamic leader Khamenei, who continually calls for the massacre of the Jewish people.
  • Hollywood headliners who say that violence is the answer, and call for the demolishing of the Minneapolis police headquarters (Michael Moore).

Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO, has suggested the complete elimination of the Republican Party. In a 2018 interview, he admitted that Twitter is so liberal, in fact, that conservative employees “don’t feel safe to express their opinions” within the company.

President Trump, who has been warning that he would do something about the uneven playing field, took action with an executive order.

The President ordered federal agencies to address such abuse by social media platforms. They are currently protected from lawsuits by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, but his order calls that into question, and:

  • Makes it U.S. policy that platforms who selectively edit, censor, or are not acting in “good faith” will not continue to receive the liability protection
  • Directs the Commerce Department to petition the FCC to make clarifying rules on Section 230 in line with U.S. policy
  • Helps stop millions of taxpayer dollars from being wasted by federal agencies on advertising with biased social media platforms
  • Directs the Justice Department to review 16,000+ complaints that have been collected by the White House about politically motivated censorship
  • Mobilizes State Attorneys General—who have massive subpoena and consumer protection authorities—to ensure social media platforms are not engaging in unfair or deceptive acts or practices

The President added that their censorship and bias threatens freedom itself, saying “Imagine if your phone company silenced or edited your conversation. Social media companies have vastly more power in the US than newspapers; they’re by far more rich than any other traditional forms of communication.”

Why this matters: Google (which owns YouTube) has been helping the Chinese government spy on its citizens, Twitter spreads Chinese communist propaganda, and Facebook profits from China’s advertising, yet they all participate in censoring conservative voices. As the November election draws nearer, social media directors have doubled-down on conservatives like this author. Our day of reckoning is coming! God will repay.

How to Pray: for the riots to recede, comfort for the Floyd family, for the truth to be told. Ask for God to shine His light in all these dark places. Pray for the voices of freedom to be liberated.

Rom. 1:28,32 – And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient…
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Rom. 2:2 – But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
