Chicago is one of a dozen or so cities that have been overcome by black-on-black gang killings and rioting anarchists. The target of rioters this week was the statue of Christopher Columbus. Wednesday evening, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot tweeted she would not allow “Donald Trump’s troops to come to Chicago and terrorize our residents” in the pursuit of restoring order. Immediately afterward, 15 people were shot and 5 died, waiting to get into a funeral. The shooting was gang-related.
Chicago Police released a video earlier in the week of officers protecting the Columbus statue as a violent mob pelted them with frozen water bottles and fireworks. (Below)
The video showed how anarchists used a Trojan horse strategy, placing “peaceful protesters” in the front to carry black umbrellas and giant Black Lives Matter banners. The banners concealed PVC pipes sharpened into lethal points, used to stab police, and the umbrellas shielded huge caches of weapons and people changing into black clothing. Forty-nine officers were injured, and 18 went to the hospital, including one officer with a broken eye socket. Twelve rioters were arrested.
Thursday at midnight, Lightfoot had the Columbus statue removed.
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler wanted to show support for his protesters who have been destroying property and attacking police for 55 nights. He went to where they had set the federal court house on fire—with five armed guards to protect him. They began cursing at him and calling for his resignation. The next night, rioters barricaded federal Department of Homeland Security officers inside the courthouse and tried to set it on fire.
Wheeler is also the police commissioner but in 2018, refused to allow police to protect an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office where rioters had overtaken the building and trapped employees.
Mayors in several cities have threatened police that they will not be allowed to cooperate with federal officials at the risk of being fired. Yet, federal property is protected under 40 US Code 1315, and it is the duty of the President to send federal officers to locations where property is threatened.
- Nancy Pelosi called federal officers “stormtroopers” without identification and decried them taking offenders away in unmarked cars.
- Homeland Security officials explained during a Wednesday press conference that because officers’ lives were threatened, their names were removed from uniforms–and marked cars end up being set on fire or otherwise destroyed.
- Hundreds of police and federal officers have been injured, including three who have permanently lost their eyesight after rioters used lasers to blind them.
Help is on the Way
Wednesday, the President announced Operation Legend, named after a 4-year-old Chicago boy who was shot while he slept. Hundreds of federal agents are being sent to cooperate with police in Chicago, Portland, Albuquerque, and Kansas City to close unsolved crimes.
President Trump also has at his disposal the Insurrection Act, giving him unilateral authority to send in troops to quell riots that oppose or obstruct the execution of laws of the United States and put down unlawful assemblies or rebellions.
It may come to that. The “cancel” culture that wants to defund police in Democrat-led cities is very effective in running the police out.

- Police are tired of the disrespect from those they serve and zero backing from those in charge.
Meanwhile, large gatherings not related to protesting and rioting are forbidden—because the virus respects social issues?
Some people are so fed up with the daily riots, the closures of businesses and schools, social distancing and the mask mandates, they want a change—and they’ll start at the top with the president. Donald Trump’s poll numbers are falling and Joe Biden, who has cognitive challenges and has called for defunding police is gaining ground. So many Americans are losing heart that the supply of the anti-depressant Zoloft has run out.
Why this Matters: Is it about the virus, or the election? Is it about black lives, or it is about the election? Many Democrat-run state and local governments plus almost all media outlets have become infiltrated by leaders who support anarchy and draconian measures to defeat the virus.
During Friday’s press briefing, the White House played a video of the anarchy in Portland, and all mainstream media outlets cut away, refusing to show the destruction.
Twitter and Google are suppressing conservative accounts and even deleting 150,000 on Twitter who retweet Q-Anon information. This Trump insider has been falsely linked to domestic terrorism. There is no evidence that the person who posts as “Q” is anything but a patriot who provides links to information that has already been made public.
Our country may be lost, not to an invasion from the outside, but through an infiltration from the inside.
How to Pray: The body of Christ must pray like never before for the survival of our nation and the displacement of a lawless government by leaders that respect and the law and will prosecute the lawless. Our Father gave heed to the cries of righteous Lot and saved him from destruction, will He not hear our cries?
