If you don’t read news from CNN or keep up with the headlines, you’ve missed the latest insane proclamation:
- “There’s no way to determine a child’s ‘gender identity’ at birth, and there is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth.”
The CNN falsehood was an attempt to ridicule Gov. Kristi Noem’s (R-SD) orders prohibiting biological opposites from competing in K-12 and college athletics. Hers and other state governments are reacting to the so-called Equality Act, which forces everyone to agree that gender is a choice, not biological, and punishes anyone who believes otherwise.
The Equality Act has been passed by the House and is now before the Senate, where, thank God, it will likely fail.
Undeterred, the Biden administration is working hard to enact every provision of the progressive agenda. This includes working with Big Business to develop a vaccine passport, which would restrict access to travel, events, and services–allowing only those who have been vaccinated to participate.
In a completely hypocritical move, these same people have opened the border to hundreds of thousands of people, whether or not they are infected with covid. It is the same thinking that allows teachers in San Diego to change from online instruction of local American children, to in-person instruction at the San Diego Convention Center for children who have crossed the border.
Today’s newest controversy involves Georgia’s implementation of votingintegrity laws that ask for an ID to vote, establish 17 days for early voting, and require a driver’s license number to qualify for an absentee ballot. The progressive left has staged a revolt, decrying Georgia and Texas–which may enact similar legislation.
As punishment Major League Baseball pulled the All-Star game out of Georgia—moving it to Colorado, which has the same voting restrictions. Not to be outdone, heads of Delta Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, Coca-Cola, Amazon, Best Buy, McDonalds, Microsoft, Apple, and others are condemning the legislation, calling it a threat to democracy and racist.
Pres. Biden helped spread the inaccuracy by lying about Georgia’s law,saying it forces the polls to close at 5 p.m. (The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.). When his press secretary was asked: “Does the President acknowledge he lied when he told ESPN Georgia’s new voter integrity law closes polls early at 5 p.m.?” she responded by dishing out one of her famous word salads:
- “I think what’s important is to report on all of the components that make it more difficult to vote in the package in the legislation.”
Notably, Atlanta’s population is 51 percent black, while Denver is 9.8 percent black. Who does the move hurt the most? According to Fox News economist Charles Payne, MLB’s decision will cause a loss of $50 million to black businesses and workers.
Liars and Lies Abound
CBS’ 60 Minutes is one of the worst offenders, airing a segment attacking Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for a “pay for play” scheme in which Florida gave Publix grocery chain a contract to distribute vaccines after the chain gave $100,000 to his campaign. They deceptively omitted a huge section of the exchange in which DeSantis provided context and reasons for the decision. Several elected Democrats in Florida were outraged at CBS, since DeSantis asked for their input, and they felt Publix was the best option.
Former President Trump has released several statements about cancel culture, advocating a “cancel back” approach, saying, “Boycott all of the woke companies that don’t want Voter I.D. and Free and Fair Elections.”
It feels like we’re living in a LARP (live-action role-play), where up is downand down is up and the loudest and most powerful voices are the craziest. Like a cult, the leaders are working to control and manipulate us using fear and intimidation.
Guilt is a powerful tool of intimidation, used to punish us for a past we cannot change. Cities across America are beginning to offer reparations for discrimination that happened decades or centuries ago. The narrative suggests that we can find people with the right DNA and apply money like a salve that will heal past hurts, but it will never really solve a problem. Corporate diversity programs, such as the one used at Coca-Cola, instructs employees how to be “less white.” The program was eventually pulled. This is the same company that discontinued Vanilla Coke in order to “fight white supremacy.”
The fear of covid is a second dynamo used to control. The CDC stats and the daily deluge of news capitalize on people’s fear of death, fear of disease, and fear of causing harm to others—even though there is a 98% success rate of recoveryfrom the virus. The official line on covid offers no relief, as new strains are already being discovered, the “end” is always projected to at some unspecified time in the future, and vaccinations will never be enough.
The best boogie man is part-real and part-imagined. As long as truth is hidden and confusion prevails, he never dies and we have no real means to defeat him. That’s why whoever asks people to actually think for themselves is silenced.
Time-Released Lunacy
The good news is that this type of insanity is unsustainable. People everywhere are tiring of the mandates, pushing back against the idea of a health passport, enacting state laws to fight for the truth of biological gender, and protecting the legitimacy of elections.
Several governors have written orders to roll back mask mandates and stand against vaccine passports. Others, like flight attendant Theresa Mullins, are making headlines for resigning their jobs rather than enforcing the mask tyranny.
A Canadian pastor who held a Good Friday worship service, found several police officers and other officials trying to close him down. Pastor Artur Pawlowski held his ground, repeatedly calling them out for not having a warrant:
- “Nazis are not welcome here! … Do not come back, you Nazi psychopaths. Unbelievable sick, evil people. Intimidating people in a church during the Passover! You Gestapo, Nazi, communist fascists! Don’t you dare come back here!”
The officials eventually left the church.
Monolithic social media platforms like Twitter, Google, and Facebook censor at will, hiding behind Section 230 which classifies them as publishers and protects them from lawsuits. They hold back information on vital subjects if it goes against the official narrative.
Enter Justice Clarence Thomas, one of the few reliable Constitutionalists on the Supreme Court. He is suggesting that media companies do not have the right to censor speech. They are “common carriers” and “places of accommodation,” not publishers. Thomas has outlined a legal blueprint for breaking up their liability protections, noting that Google serves as the “gatekeeper” between users and speech with power over 90 percent of internet searches.
Why this Matters: Theologian Doug Wilson provides a hopeful perspective on cancel culture, which he calls a transitional moment, designed to be absurd. The elites’ goal is that we go along with the absurdity—not that we or they actually believe what they’re saying. So if they tell us that America is racist and whiteness is evil, or that men are women and women are men, they win if we agree (even if we all know that it is a lie).
Wilson points out that the issue is:
- Are we cowards–or will we stand up against the tyranny?
- Will we accept their control of the dictionary and how they redefine our language?
- If we do, they’ve won, and the next thing they will do is redefine the terms again. This is how they break us.
- It’s up to us to choose.
How to Pray: Father, show us how to submit to You while standing against Satan’s tyranny. Help us grow in strength, putting on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil! Eph. 6:11. We lift up Justice Thomas. Give him a legal pathway to free us from social media’s stranglehold. We pray that the rank hypocrisy will overwhelm and awaken the people who are still asleep. We ask it all in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
