Corruption Overload

The corruption is so bad, it would be great to have just one boogie man to blame. Or one political party. Instead, we have an entire cabal of elite who are united in their intent to destroy the greatest nation on earth. This week we learned how the Attorney General is using the FBI to demonize and prosecute parents, while ensuring financial benefits to his children—and how tech giants and the Democrat party are using what seems to be theatrics in order to double-down on censorship of conservatives.

In Micah 7:3, the prophet laments the corruption of his day:

“That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asks, and the judge asks for a reward; and the great man, he utters his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.”

We all know about Joe Biden’s evil schemes to rake in cash through his son Hunter, who followed the Vice President around the world during the Obama Administration, setting up investment accounts for foreign governments. Hunter admitted in his emails that ten percent goes to “the big guy.”

Now we’re finding out that Attorney General Merrick Garland will sic the law on parents who oppose Critical Race Theory. Law enforcement agencies are to begin prosecuting parents who “threaten” school board members with a series of additional efforts in the coming days designed to “address the rise in criminal conduct directed toward school personnel.”

The dictionary says that a threat is a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done. Under the law, a threat is “a menace of bodily harm, such as may restrain a person’s freedom of action.” We already have laws in place to handle threats, so this looks like an excuse to re-classify threats in order to silence dissent.

What Constitutes a threat?

We have a pretty good idea of what Garland will do, based on the events during the summer of 2020 versus the “insurrection” of January 6. It just depends which side of the political spectrum you’re on. BLM activists, Antifa, and their ilk get a pass. They may destroy property, set fires, throw frozen water bottles at police for which they might be arrested. If so, they’re released without bond.

If you’re a conservative patriot, assembled for a peaceful demonstration, then peacefully enter the Capitol building, you are hunted down, arrested, and parked in solitary confinement for months on end. You get charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing and are called a domestic terrorist. That’s not to say that some of the 600 people arrested that day didn’t riot—they did. But the pastors, veterans, and grandmothers who did no harm were also targeted. Where is justice?

Consider also the fate ofRepublican Rep. Steve Scalise, who was gunned down by a Bernie supporter during baseball practice and nearly died. Or Sen. Rand Paul who was assaulted by a neighbor and continues to receive death threats. His wife posted this on Twitter:

“A mob held us hostage for ten minutes, spitting on and threatening to kill us. No charges! Fake anthrax and death threats sent to our home. No charges! Now just learned the person who called Rand’s Senate office threatening to shoot us will not be charged. I’m exhausted and angry.”

Remember the reports from Trump Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders? Her dinner party was refused service at a restaurant because of their political affiliation. This weekend, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) was followed into the bathroom by leftists who want to intimidate her into voting for blanket amnesty for illegal immigrants. Her adversaries are part of a group funded by George Soros, therefore it’s no surprise that President Biden called their actions “part of the process.”

Do you think he would say the same for parent protesters (pictured above)? They demonstrated outside the home of Sarasota School Board chairwoman Shirley Brown because they were evicted from board meetings. You see, the board didn’t want members to be criticized, had parents removed from the meeting, and banned outside participation from future meetings.

One very cynical explanation for the crackdown is entirely political and bears witness to financial motivation. AG Garland’s daughter Rebecca married Xan Tanner, the co-founder of Panorama Education. This “social learning”analytics firm creates computer surveys for school systems in order to support Critical Race Theory and its twin, “Culturally Responsive Teaching.” The children are given surveys to gauge their “feelings” and compile this and other data.
They’re asked:

  • “How are you feeling today” (terrible, okay, good, great!)
  • What emotion are you feeling most today? (Excited happy loved angry sad worried)
  • At the end, children are asked if they’d like to speak privately to “an adult.”

The answers are shared with the school administration and teachers, but kept secret from parents.

Friends in High Places

More than 50 of the largest 100 school districts and state agencies in the US use Panorama, which means 25 percent of school children and their parents are unwitting customers. Tanner and his partner Aaron Feuer have raised $105 million in funding since the firm’s inception in 2012. Interestingly, Tanner was Head Page at the Senate and interned for the House Foreign Intelligence Agency before starting Panorama with Feuer.

And while the DOJ is targeting anyone who would buck the system, including the results of the 2020 election, it’s also interesting that Facebook is calling on Congress to further censor political content on social media. This week Frances Haugen, a former product manager at Facebook, testified before Congress supposedly as a whistleblower. She criticized Instagram’s use of dirty tactics that reward and promote pages that encourage anorexia–making sick people even sicker. But her greater message was that we need new, more restrictive censorship laws.

Would you be surprised to learn that Haugen is a die-hard Democrat who supports far-left politicians and is represented by people and organizations funded by George Soros?

Facebook’s Director of Policy Communications didn’t like Haugen’s criticism but agreed that it’s time to update the rules for the internet and practically begged Congress to act by instituting greater censorship. Just who is going to be censored? It won’t be Democrats, their philosophies, or their Soros-backed organizations.

Why this Matters: The people who think they’re on top and poised to capture the prize have no idea what is coming. God always brings correction to people and nations. In Micah’s day, the corruption was overwhelming, and he prophesied judgment followed by restoration—which is a theme repeated over and over in the Scriptures.

Today is no different. There will be judgment, and some may even repent before the ax falls. Conversely, God always protects his people and blesses them with mercy and salvation.

How to Pray: Jesus is light and in Him is no darkness at all. Pray for all those who suffer persecution to be able to see the light of God despite their circumstances. Pray that corruption and wickedness will be exposed and God’s church will repent for our sins.

Micah 7:7-8 – Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

Micah 7:18-19 – Who is a God like unto thee, that pardons iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retains not his anger for ever, because he delights in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
