Southwest Airlines is in a world of hurt. The airline cancelled 2,200 flightssince Saturday, blaming the weather and air traffic control. What a coincidence that all employees who refused to comply with the October 4 federal mandate can’t fly planes, patrol the aisles, or toss bags.

Equally interesting is that Southwest accepted $3.2 billion in aid and became the first airline to post a profit during the shutdown and recovery, while incurring quite a debt to the federal government.

On Friday, the 9,000-member Southwest Airlines Pilots Association asked a court to temporarily block the company from enforcing the vaccine mandate until an existing lawsuit is resolved. They have also asked for an immediate hearing on the request before a federal court in Dallas, citing violations of the Railway Labor Act (RLA), which governs airline-union relations. Southwest is imposing new conditions of employment, with a threat of termination if not compliant by December 8.

The changes violate a “status quo” provision of the RLA by not maintaining terms of an existing contract during negotiations, the lawsuit claimed. Pilots are at a unique risk because adverse reactions to a vaccine could affect their ability to pass periodic medical examinations required to maintain their license.

It seems to defy common sense that “the union wants to negotiate, among other things, how [adverse reactions] would be covered by long-term disability policies” 

Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the problems experienced by Southwest were completely unrelated to mandates, and the company continued to deny reports on social media that the disruptions stemmed from pilots calling out sick (aka the “freedom flu”). Psaki reiterated, “Our intention is to…continue to work to implement these requirements across the country including in the states where there are attempts to oppose them.”

Thank God that more good news abounds as Americans find their patriotic roots and stand in defiance of such tyranny!

• Thousands of Kaiser Permanente employees in Southern California voted to authorize a strike in protest against severe staffing shortages that put both medical staff and patients at risk.
• A judge in New York has issued a preliminary injunction for all health care workers against the state’s COVID vaccine mandate. The judge finds that the state’s mandate conflicts with workers’ religious rights under federal law and the First Amendment.
• Brooklyn Nets Basketball officials announced that all-star point guard Kyrie Irving is banned from the team. Why? Irving refuses to be vaccinated.
• Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an executive order banning any vaccine mandate in his state, which just happens to be the home base of Southwest Airlines.
• The archbishop for the Catholic military said on Tuesday that service personnel have a valid religious exemption, according to Military Times.
• The FDA, in an unusual move, didn’t take a stance on Moderna’s application for a booster dose, indicating there may not be “sufficient data to support the extra dose.”

Why this Matters: Biden’s mandate affects federal workers and private companies employing 100 or more people. It is the direct cause of an increase in worker shortages–which is especially outrageous in the areas of healthcare, law enforcement, and transportation, as these are the same people who have been putting their health on the line in order to serve us. 

Now this madness is showing up in the official numbers of lost jobs. The number for September was terrible, with a record 4,300 people leaving the workforce. From CNN:

• About 2.9% of the workforce quit in August, up from 2.7% in July, according to the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) report
• The number of workers who quit rose by 242,000 from July. Quits rose in accommodation and food services, wholesale trade and state and local government education.
• Companies continue to grapple with a serious worker shortage. Job openings remained very high at the end of August at 10.4 million, the JOLTS report showed. However, that marks a decline of 659,000 from the end of July.

The good news is that the mandate doesn’t claim to be legally binding, and many lawsuits filed by individuals and groups against it are making their way through the courts. 

Their Lies Have Found Them Out

Loudon County, proclaimed as the richest in the nation, also has a radical education agenda, including critical race theory and rights for “gender-expansive students.” When Loudon school officials tried to pass a controversial transgender policy June 22, they told irate parents that they had no record of problems with “gender fluid” boys in girls’ bathrooms. Officials lectured the parents that their fears and bias were unjustified and downright hateful.

It went unsaid that a 9th-grade girl had already been raped, allegedly, by a “gender fluid” boy in the girls’ bathroom. The youth was charged with two counts of forcible sodomy. And, instead of reversing course–let alone telling the truth about the incident–school officials quietly transferred the rapist to a different school.

On October 6, he was arrested for yet another sexual assault at the next school.
What we didn’t know at the time is that the victim’s father, Scott Smith, went to that June 22 meeting. It descended into disorder, parents angrily fighting back against the radical agenda, and the board eventually kicked them out. In the meantime:

• Smith got into a heated argument with a woman.
• The police dragged him to the ground, arrested him on two misdemeanors, and slapped him with a no-trespassing order.
• He has now been placed on a list of “domestic terrorists” kept by the National School Board Association.

The lie that now has been exposed is that School Superintendent Scott Ziegler told parents at the June 22 meeting: “I think it’s important to keep some perspective on this…The predator transgender student — or person — simply does not exist. I think it’s part of, maybe, a misunderstanding of what it means to be transgender, but the data is simply not playing that out,” Ziegler said.

Why this Matters: Everything promoted by the new “woke” culture is anathema to the majority. According to Rasmussen polling, Biden’s approval index is now way down. Half of likely voters strongly disapprove, while a mere 20 percent strongly approve. 

If Christians and other patriots do not back down, we will eventually regain some ground. Let’s continue to be watchmen who see evil coming and warn the camp. May the Lord honor our efforts to reject tyranny, as long as we honor him in our words and actions.

How to Pray: Continue to pray for truth to be exposed. Pray for those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, and be prepared help them. Pray that God will strength us all and our ability to call evil, evil–and good, good. Is. 5:20-21
