I’m Lori Colley, author and publisher of the Praying Citizen – a newsletter for Christian conservatives. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:7 that wisdom is the principal thing… get wisdom and with all your getting get understanding.
Do you ever feel like you can’t get understanding, especially about current events? It’s hard to catch up with the news! That’s why I’ve done it for you. I sort through the news every day and pull out the most important pieces and leave out the garbage… no gossip or baseless accusations. I check the facts and give you the salient points. I’ll tell you not only what’s going on with current events like the refugee crisis in Europe and the bombing in Syria, but why it matters and how you can pray about it.
God hears your prayers and He is very interested in what’s happening on this planet. He’s looking for someone, anyone, to agree with Him in prayer! You can be that person, along with other Praying Citizens.
It takes just a few minutes a day to stay current and understand the main issues. With that small investment of your time, you’ll be able to talk intelligently about current events. You can sleep at night knowing you’ve given the issues over to God and you’ve done your part through prayer.
As a Christian and a former homeschool mom, I like to keep it conservative, clean, and clear enough for even kids to understand. Everyone can get Praying Citizen and know the facts their favorite media outlets might leave out. All around, this is a must-have for anyone who doesn’t have the time or the patience to sort through the news for themselves.

About Me:
I’m a blogger, researcher and wife, mom and new grandmother! In 2015, I left my position as Media Director for a Christian ministry because God called me to begin Praying Citizen. I was very eager to do what He had laid on my heart for several months.
In January 2018, after months of urging by the Holy Spirit to make videos (you know, that compulsion to do something that you have NO idea how you’re going to accomplish), I gave in. I began in earnest turning every issue of Praying Citizen into a video and publishing it on YouTube. In less than six months I had 17,500 subscribers and 1.5 million views. No one is more shocked than I!
My husband Bob is my proofreader and editor. I depend on God first, and him next. We’ve been married for 31 years, and have four children and one granddaughter. I have a B.A. in Communications from Northern Illinois University and earlier in my career I worked as a writer/producer in marketing, advertising, and media. I’m also an avid horsewoman (hunter/jumper) and taught riding lessons and trained horses for several years. My other interests include ministry, counseling, and teaching.
