An Update on the Terror Manhunt

After an overnight raid in a Paris neighborhood, eight terrorists were captured and two others are killed. One who died was a a female who detonated her suicide vest when police approached. The police have not released information on the mastermind behind the Paris attack. He may have been the one killed, or may still be at large. Five officers were wounded and a police dog was killed. Another key figure in the attack who handled logistics is still being sought.

The terrorist cell was planning another attack on a shopping mall. The mastermind’s hometown of Molenbeek, Brussels, is a center for terror networks. It is a police no-go zone that the authorities don’t even try to monitor.

• Turkish authorities are detaining eight people who claimed to be tourists but are suspected to be ISIS militants trying to enter Germany.
• Five Syrians were arrested and detained in Honduras. They were trying to get to the U.S. using faked or stolen Greek passports. They had passed through several countries in order to get to Honduras, including Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, and Costa Rica.
• King Abdullah of Jordan (a strong ally of the U.S.) says we are facing World War III, and the world must act together and quickly. This was also said by the Pope last week.

Thirty-four American governors participated in a conference call with senior White House officials on Tuesday night to discuss the screening process for Syrian refugees. According to one governor, the White House was not able to answer questions. Representative McCaul, Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee is proposing a bill to put a hold on Syrian refugees entering the U.S. until there proper protocols for vetting them is put in place. The House will vote on it tomorrow. President Obama promises to veto such a bill.

Why this Matters: President Obama is criticizing and trying to shame anyone who is not eager to accept Syrian refugees at this time and wants a “pause” in order to make sure protocols are in place to keep out those who pose a danger to national security. The President said Republicans are afraid of widows and orphans. The truth is, ISIS has female members and the radicals raise their children in the ways of jihad and with a hatred for the “great Satan.” There are no data bases in Syria for our security systems to access. The weakness of the President and his lack of resolve to lead the rest of the world is a creating a perfect storm for Russia to take over. By gaining access to Middle East oil fields, Russia stands to gain control of 60 percent of the global fuel supply.

How to Pray: Father, help the police capture the remaining attackers. Bless those who understand the nature of evil and are in a position to influence American policy. We ask you to open the eyes of our President to the truth. We pray for the refugees and ask for protocols and systems to identify troublemakers. Those that are not, give us ways to welcome and love them with the love of Christ.
