“The Squad:” Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI)
Two new nicknames popped up in the media this week to describe a group of four newcomers in the House: “The Squad” and “the four horsewomen of the apocalypse.” Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) have made a name for themselves in their nonstop criticism of this country.
Their latest success was on Tuesday, when they forced Speaker Nancy Pelosi–who now calls them “our sisters”–to bring forward a vote to condemn the President’s “racist” comments. All Democrats and four Republicans voted in favor of the resolution.
But they’re more than just loudmouths; according to internal polling, these women have taken control of the House away from traditional Democrats. Cortez and Omar in particular are driving the media cycle and image of the Democrat Party.
2020 is just around the corner. Are they shooting themselves and the entire Party in the foot? According to that poll, they are. Most swing voters (“likely general-election voters who are white and have two years or less of college education”) do not approve of either woman.
These are a few of the tweets “The Squad” says are racist:
Here is a brief run-down of what the President referenced:
- Omar has been accused of marrying her brother in order to get him citizenship in the US. She said it is a “baseless rumor,” but has suppressed her records and hindered any official verification. Omar filed federal taxes in 2014 and 2015 with her current husband while legally married to another man, then illegally used campaign funds to pay lawyers to correct her personal tax returns. She refuses to condemn terror groups like Al Qaeda and in fact admires them, and said American support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins” (money). In talking about 9/11, she said, “some people did something.”
- Tlaib registered to vote from a false address, and represented a state House district that she did not actually live in, according to property records and her own father. She is a supporter of radical terror groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah.
- Cortez violated campaign finance laws. She is also responsible for heading a protest against Amazon’s bid to build a giant facility in New York City—which cost them 25,000 jobs. By comparing border patrol holding facilities to Nazi “concentration camps,” Cortez influenced an anarchist–who quoted her in his manifesto–to attack an ICE facility in Tacoma. She pushes for Socialist policies and regards Venezuela, where people are going hungry, as a model of success.
- Pressley believes that race, religion and sexuality are what matters. She told an audience, “We don’t need any more brown faces who don’t want to be a brown voice. We don’t need black faces that don’t want to be a black voice. We don’t need Muslims that don’t want to be a Muslim voice. We don’t need queers that don’t want to be a queer voice.” Her words are the opposite of our national motto, “E pluribus unum,” which means “out of many, one.”
The Impeachment Goal
Despite the House resolution’s focus on Trump’s tweets, GOP Senate Leader Kevin McCarthy said their true goal was revealed the night they were sworn-in. “They spoke about impeachment in words I will not use here,” he said, a reference to Tlaib’s promise to impeach the President, using the f word.
House Minority Whip Steve Scalise also accused Democrats of calling “for impeachment of the president from day one.”
The House voted on impeachment Wednesday, but the measure failed because only about 40 percent of the Democrats were in favor of it. Speaker Pelosi told reporters she wants the House to pursue committee investigations into the administration instead.
“Four Horsewomen of the Apocalypse”
Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) gave his opinion of #TheSquad on the Tucker Carlson show Tuesday evening:
“The simple fact of the matter is that the four congresswomen think that America was wicked in its origins. They think that America and its people are even more wicked now, that we are all racist and misogynistic, and evil. Now they’re entitled to their opinion, they are Americans, but I’m entitled to my opinion, and I just think they’re left-wing cranks, and they’re the reason that there are directions on a shampoo bottle. I think we should ignore them.
“They are destroying the Democratic Party. I’m appalled that so many of our presidential candidates are falling all over themselves to try to agree with the four horsewomen of the Apocalypse. They are entitled to their opinions, but I’m entitled to say that they are whack jobs.”

Outlook for 2020
A new YouGov poll reveals the majority of Republicans agree with President Trump’s tweets suggesting the “Squad” should return to their homelands and assist their own countries if they dislike America. He has a 94 percent approval rating among Republicans.
Why this Matters: Under President Trump, blacks, Hispanics, Asians and women have the highest employment rates in our history. Trump appointed Richard Grennell, who is openly homosexual, as Ambassador to Germany. He nominated Gina Haspel, the first woman to head the CIA. The Marines are about to have their first black female brigadier general, and when Donald Trump opened Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, he insisted on accepting Jews and blacks, even though other clubs in the area discriminated against them. In 1986, he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in celebration of “patriotism, tolerance, brotherhood and diversity.”
As a racist, misogynist, homophobe, he’s a failure.
How to Pray: For Americans to wake up and understand the views of those who now lead the Democrat party.
Ecc. 5:2 – Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
Matt. 15:18 – But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
