Meet Nina! Your New Disinformation Director

The Biden regime was well prepared for Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter. On Thursday they announced that a new Disinformation Governance Board will be operating out of the Department of Homeland Security. It will target disinformation surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and on the messaging that smuggling groups are peddling to would-be illegal immigrants.

The leader selected to direct this new propaganda arm is self-proclaimed “disinformation expert” Nina Jankowicz. Nina certainly knows how to generate disinformation. She has promoted falsehoods related to Donald Trump, Ukraine, and Hunter Biden’s laptop. As Rudy Giuliani said,

  • “Nina Jankowicz is the whack a doodle Biden put in charge of the Ministry of Truth. Everything I said about Ukraine, Lap Top from Hell and the Irregularities and Illegal activities of the 2020 election has been proven and verified as true…”

Jankowicz put her extreme views to music and posted it on TikTok in a rendition of Mary Poppins’ “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” She said, “you can just call me the Mary Poppins of disinformation.”

Above: Censorship advocates Jankowicz, Jillian Hunchak, and Alexandra Pavliuc discuss making it a crime to mock women online.

Her other views are that “gender misinformation” is a national security concern that requires government censorship.

  • She and two other women write that the use of false or misleading gender and sex-based narratives against women–often with some degree of coordination–is aimed at deterring women from participating in the public sphere.
  • They believe that Congress should create laws to stop anyone from mocking women online, equating it with violence against women.

Jankowicz has been secretly on the job for a couple of months, but Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas let it slip Thursday during testimony to Congress, when asked what his department is doing to help minority communities combat election disinformation. He says she is completely non-partisan and fair.

Minorities and Disinformation

If you are scratching your head over the above question about minorities being the target of disinformation–perhaps because it’s somewhat insulting to minorities–this refers to a Senate report on Russia’s use of social media. The Senate Intel Committee commissioned two studies which found that Russia’s Internet Research Agency (IRA) waged an information war in 2016 to nudge the presidential election in favor of Donald Trump. The IRA was found to have targeted African Americans particularly.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both warned that the world isn’t safe when the First Amendment is practiced—except their words said the opposite. For example, Obama spoke at Stanford University in a speech calling for more censorship, while saying he himself is “pretty close to a First Amendment absolutist.” That’s like calling for the end to fossil fuels while jetting around in a private aircraft.

Oh wait. That’s exactly what “elites” like Obama, Al Gore, and John Kerry do!

Obama and Hillary Clinton are now calling for outright state censorship—meaning global governance of social media. Clinton called for the European Union to pass the Digital Services Act (DSA), warning that governments need to censor because “for too long, tech platforms have amplified disinformation and extremism with no accountability. The EU is poised to do something about it.”

Never mind that Hillary was caught approving the plan to gin up the phony Russia collusion hoax to deflect from her own problems just before the 2016 election. In fact, she is under the microscope right now in the prosecution by Special Counsel John Durham of Clinton lawyer Michael Sussmann. The Federal Election Commission recently fined her campaign for hiding the funding of the Steele dossier.

The 27-nation EU gave preliminary approval to the DSA, which would impose financial and criminal punishment for companies who break the rules of the nation with the strictest policies. In other words, whichever government has the tightest restrictions on speech would set the standard for the rest of the world. Countries like Germany and France have already been criminalizing speech for decades. Imagine that spreading to the US.

That’s one way of evading the First Amendment.

Several Senators are loudly opposed to this move, highlighting Jankowicz’s history of spreading disinformation and misinformation. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) issued a statement that asks DHS Secretary Mayorkas to provide the statute allowing DHS to create the Disinformation Board, appoint board members, and assign or hire staff. He also asks:

  • How does DHS define “misinformation”?
  • What does DHS consider to be “irregular migration”?
  • What does DHS consider to be misinformation about irregular migration?
  • What DHS component or office is responsible for monitoring and collecting data on “misinformation”? How many staff are tasked with this assignment? What are their job descriptions and classifications?
  • What specific actions does DHS intend to take to “counter misinformation”?

Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) issued this statement: “I am deeply concerned by the administration’s decision to create a Disinformation Governance Board at the Department of Homeland Security. As the author of the bipartisan law that established the Global Engagement Center to combat the constantly evolving threat of foreign propaganda and disinformation abroad, I do not believe that the United States government should turn the tools that we have used to assist our allies counter foreign adversaries onto the American people. Our focus should be on bad actors like Russia and China, not our own citizens.

Why this Matters: The Senators have this absolutely correct. There is no statute that allows such a “board,” and the Department should be about securing the homeland from foreign invaders, not from everyday Americans.

If the key issue is foreign meddling in US elections–why this official focus on US citizens sharing information through social media? According to Secretary Mayorkas, this Disinformation Department will target “disinformation surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and on the messaging smuggling groups are peddling to would-be illegal immigrants.”

Even if this is something that doesn’t violate the First Amendment, we know from experience that they won’t stop with Ukraine and messages to illegals.

This is one of those times when we should contact our legislators and ask them to put a stop to such overreach, while praying continually that God will cause our nation to return to faith. And that begins with the people who call God their savior.

How to Pray: For the people of God to repent, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways. Pray for healing of our land.

2 Chron. 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chron. 30:9 – For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
